My thomann western guitar case fits the HB CLD41SE like it was made for it with a bit of room for a longer headstock. It also fits my Epiphone EJ160E but it's a bit of a squeeze as the neck is longer and headstock is massive. My HB35 strangely just fits as well but not what you'd call a good fit. My J200 copy needs a jumbo case though.

I saw that in the video review of the HB-35 that it just abouts fits. It's very tight isn't it?

dodger: she is a beauty! It's a shame she isn't flamed red DefJef: yeah my boyfriend helped me out on that. I thought there would be too much pressure on the bigsby when swinging it but he says it's fine. So it does fit, yay!

Hi dodger,
Sent you a private message as I couldn't find this thread yesterday, but you haven't seen it yet I think. A question...
When you fit your guitar and close it are the lids slightly misaligned on your case? On mine they are, Thomann told me this is normal for a case of this prize range. It's quite difficult to close the lids properly.

Hi Marit
Mine closes fine but one of the clasps is slightly out of line. I think someone might have mentioned this in their review amd said their partner/father fixed it with a screwdriver. I haven't bothered as mine works OK. Some must be worse than others. It seems to slide into place when the last clasp is fastened so works OK (and I've used it for about 12 gigs now).
The guitar fits perfectly inside so I'm happy enough with mine.

On mine they're pretty much all out of line, when closing it's ok again. Thomann won't do much about it. How can you fix it with a screwdriver? You'll have to take off the clasps and replace them I presume?

You'll have to take off the clasps and replace them I presume? Hi Marit I've copied the text from the review I mentioned: I was not impressed with the quality. Some of the clasps fit so loosely that you could pretty much knock them open. However, I told myself that this was a cheap case, so I could expect it not to be perfect, and I was prepared to tolerate the loose clasps because the two clasps on the front had a key-lock system that could keep them securely in place and hold the case closed. It turned out that this was not to be though, as one of the locks was actually faulty. When the key was turned, the 'teeth' on the locking mechanism wouldn't slot into the metal loops on the underside of the clasp to lock the clasp down, because they weren't aligned properly. With one working lock the case might still have managed to get my instrument abroad safely, but that consolation was eclipsed by the fact that my case was now technically faulty as well as inadequately manufactured for its intended purpose. thomann I decided that enough was enough and set about drafting an email requesting a refund.
Thankfully I didn't have to go through the ordeal of demanding the refund, packaging the thing back up and carrying it all the way to the post office depot. My dad managed to save the day before the email got sent with the aid of a wrench and a small flathead screwdriver. He used these to bend the metal on the locking mechanism and the clasps.
It seems this reviewer got a case like yours. Mine is OK without any work although I could probably move mine slightly for better alignment but it's OK for now.

Thanks dodger! I'll have to ask my boyfriend to do the same trick. I just checked and the locks do work on my case luckily
