Yup, was a pain to get it out, was stuck somewhere. Used a cooking spoon to loosen it up then shook the guitar and managed to get it out. Slightly touched the soundhole with it and a tiny bit of paint gone there. Oh well all comes with the prize I guess.

Yes, Marit, this guitar looks very little different than mine, or it seems to me only... The body shape looks different and original pickguard too. Bridge finish is far better, theres no sharp edges anymor on yours. Happy new guitar. I ´m dreaming about CLD 30 . Maybe, some day... This sandpaper was left for you, Marit. For every case, if you find some unfinished works on this instrument you cad manage youself.

DefJef: yep, you've won a fridge! Well done! I didn't think I needed to clarify it but it turned out to be a nice guessing game for you guys! easyrider: I hope to be able to exchange the pickguard myself, I believe it involves a hair dryer and plenty of patience... I have neither? Yes how nice of them to leave it for me! It does seem to be an unused piece, they just could've thought of a better place to put it!

So I'm having a bit of trouble with a buzzy B string on this guitar. I've detuned it to D and put thicker strings on it (13-56), I thought it might be that the string is still too thin and put an even thicker one on it but the buzz got worse (tuned to D standard so A). It appears the thicker the string, the more buzz, which makes sense of course in a way. What would be a simple solution? Go back to 12-54 strings?

Why does a thicker string make more buzz sense? I keep thinking it through but get more confused than I did watching Shutter Island. Depends what's causing the buzz doesn't it? Well I am known for always thinking slightly out of the box (or the exact opposite of how others would think). My thinking was this; the thicker the string the closer it comes to the fretboard, although I did first think it would be the other way round, that because of the extra thickness it would go further away and solve the buzzing. So basically I'm clueless.

Oh marit . Stick a bass string on there and it should sit right on the frets then . If you think about it the thicker the gauge the higher it MIGHT ride in the slot. Particularly if its a bit V shaped and you haven't adjusted it. It certainly can't sit any lower. Have you checked the relief on the neck? Where is this buzzing? Have you worn a fret down through your, frankly, excessive playing etc.? There is SOME logic to your thinking in that you hoped the heavier gauge would increase the relief so eliminate buzz but I don't think just one B string detuned would do enough of that. Are you detuning several strings on this? It could be that, by doing that and not going up a gauge, the relief is getting less so buzzing is occurring. Well DefJef that's a lotta questions. No I will not stick a bass string in there The buzzing occures only when playing the string unfretted, when fretted it's fine. It basically sounds like what it would sound like if you'd put your finger at the wrong side of a fret. No I haven't worn any frets down, they all look fine. Yes the guitar is entirely tuned to D standard (D-A-C-F-A-D), hence I went up a gauge (12-54 to 13-56). I've done this with other guitars and it wasn't a problem.
