Yes, very good How is the TC Flourescence ? How is it tracking the notes? Are the long shimmer notes too shrill? Tracking is very good, even tracks the low B of a five sting bass without a hitch. It comes equipped with a tone knob so shrillness can be toned down. Only minor downside is that the wet signal is lower in volume than dry but given it's a subtle effect anyway this doesn't bother me. It's more versatile and better adjustable than the shimmer setting on the Canyon which also sounded not bad BTW.

The shimmer on my Fender Marine is also qquieter that the Dry signal. I think thats the way it is designed to be like a backing instrument in the background.
I wish Marine had a tone knob. Instead it just has a toggle between bright and dark which is very subtle. Might get that TC at some stage (firt I need a good Tremolo pedal)

The Boss TR-2 tremolo is reasonably affordable and very good, but if you want the best... EarthQuaker Devices Nightwire, very expansive but man this thing rules! I've got both on my board.
In the past I did have a Harley Benton Vintage Tremolo which was also very good, in principle on par with the TR-2 but it missed the wave shape control function the Boss has.

I need the shape control AND Volume/Level control as the volume can drop once Tremolo is engaged.

Yup volume drops on the TR-2, the Nightwire has volume control.
I use the volume on my instruments to compensate for this drop with the TR-2, I never use the instrument volume maxed out.

I looked through this thread to glean some ideas but from what I've seen I need to ask some questions.
I am currently making a board for my pedals, at the moment I have the MartinB version of a pedal board. Looking at the Blablas versions, I would end up doing a Michael Flattley trying to operate that!
Questions:
1) At the moment I run everything between guitar and amp (clean channel) with my looper last, I do this as I am led to believe using the FX loop om my amp will cancel effect recorded on the looper to a clean sound?
2) Order of pedals? When I attach my pedals to the board what should go where? At present I have this set up as follows from guitar to amp: Tuner - Overdrive - Reverb - Booster - looper I may also add a fuzz pedal.
3) Do I need to split certain pedals through effects loop or am I best leaving everything before the amp?
I use this set up as I want a different sound from the overdrive on my Joy bantamp meteor.
Any advice much appreciated.

I don't use the effect loop on my amp, it's easier to plug the complete chain that's on my board in the front of the amp. I use the effect loop of my noise gate for all the pedals that potentially are noisy, dirts and envelopes, with a compressor at the end of this sub-chain to keep them in check. My effect chain evolved out of experimenting with the order and discover what sounds best to me.
Basically: Main chain: tuner - pitch pedals - noise gate - modulating pedals - shimmer - tremolo (EQD NightWire) - delays - reverbs - delay - compressor - looper - drum machine - volume
Noise gate loop: envelope - auto-wah - lofi - distortion - overdrive - distortion - 2 x fuzz - tube preamp - compressor
This chain is primarily used and set up for bass by the way.

Cheers for the info lads, I'll try setting up a few different ways before fixing to the board. I have been looking at the voodoo octave fuzz pedal has anyone used one of these?

Changes. One new one, retired two, reinstated one and moved a few around. Also replaced most of the EBS patch cables with the newer version EBS patch cable. Had some problems with bad contact at several positions in the chain a few months ago. Hopefully the new version will behave better, they have gold plated plugs so should be more reliable than the older nickel plated plugs.

It's certainly an impressive setup.

I only use two to five together at a time at the most, the noise gate and compressor are almost always on. I know what the separate pedals can do to my sound and what they can do combined, there are effects that can complement each other and few that when used together can kill the sound completely. There is a logic behind the order of the chain. How they are positioned on the board does not always correspond with the actual chain order.

Updated again. Changes in the pedal order, I think it's optimized to the max. Also no lust for new pedals, already for a few months now. Removed the HB Dyna compressor and reinstated my TC electronic SpectraComp, finally found a firmware version that resolved the toneprint-reset to the default toneprint after unplugging/unpowering issues! The final version at TC electronic worked for most people but not for everybody, I was one of those for which it did not work fully, it appeared to be solved for a short period of time but after I moved the pedal to a different place in the chain it had these issues again. Someone over at TalkBass discovered, and tested, a newer version on Dropbox that is not yet officially released by TC electronic but that fixes the issues.

Nice. How is the Green Russian treating you? I'm seriously thinking of getting one. It's either that or the Carcosa Fuzz. Carcosa probably a bit more versatile but well muff is muff.
