Hello everyone, just wanted to start a new Thread on something i've not seen anyone talk about, guitar picks! Do you use them, which ones do you use, and why? Why not? Which ones have you tried, and did you like them or if not, why not! Personally use my fingers mostly since they give me great control over the way i play my blues licks, but when i'm playing something that requires a pick i usually go for Gravity or the good old Jazz III if i'm out and about... do not want to lose my Gravity ones too often

salteedog Never knew HB did picks, you learn something new every day! Although i suppose HB does everything guitar related nowadays! Also makes me embarassed that the picks i use are $8 each kwis I'm a fancy pants kinda dude so i could never get used to the cheap feeling of the cut out picks. First world problems eh. DefJef Dem fingers been flaking with me lately, i started playing 12-56' 'es on my Gulf-o-Caster and my fingers have been shedding skin like a rattlesnake ever since! So for now i sometimes HAVE to use a pick I also always have a pick shoved at the first fret on the low e string on all of my guitars, always have one close by! I've grown to really dislike any pick below 1mm because of the lack of control.

Fingers all the way. Dunlop medium only when needing pinch harmonics.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

That's crazy talk - it's over high E, under B and over G: classic ) but it amazes me how many times they are more often found on a table, in the bathroom, in the kitchen, on a drive way, up the garden, or at my parents' house hundreds of miles away.

Usually found at the back of the couch for me. Mixed in with assorted coins, small bits of lego and the odd piece of toast crust!
Speaking of finding picks there are three or four picks I use regularly which I found...I think we were brought together by fate. A couple found in guitar gig bags I bought, one found in the carpark of an auto-route rest-stop in France and one found by my son on the floor of an airport waiting area.

Those found ones seem great. i found a beautiful shell pink one in the bread aisle at Morrisons. Was loving it till I was playing with it then did that old 'pick in the mouth' trick to do some fingerstyle, then remembered that I had no idea where it had been. Funny that. The one I found in France is a lovely shell pink one too. Could they be related perchance??

Aren't those Herco flex ones the soft nylon I mentioned that goes fuzzy round the edges? They are nylon, high quality at that and extremely durable and long-lasting. Mine aren't fuzzy round the edges, and I've been using the same one for a while. My boyfriend really likes 'em too, they're quite grippy which is nice.
