I play with both picks and fingers.... I like thumb and fingers or sometimes a Fred Kely medium thumb pick on blues/folky stuff and Scotty Moore rockabilly type riffs. Dunlop nylon .73mm and Herco 50s are pretty much the same and are my favourite picks for strumming and arpeggio stuff like Johnny Marrr/Peter Buck/James Burton/Pete Townsend/Steve Marriott/Tom Petty/Neil Young blah blah blah... And 1mm any brand generic picks for lead which is not very often. I just cannot get on with thick picks but I'm more of a rhythm player so that's probably why.

marit we can never have enough pieces of plastic. Looking at your collection of picks I can definitely tell that is your way of living. Well, as long as the plastic (does nylon count as plastic) is in our houses, it's not in the sea killing our wildlife. I suppose we're really protecting nature, honestly.

The only way we "civilized" humans can save nature is by packing our suitcases and all of us leaving this planet for good. We simply love our consumerist life style too damn much! We would rather see all go to Hell than change our own way of living!
And our Governments are rather investing money in finding new planets were we can take the chosen once in case this one goes to hell (which it will with our way of consuming) than developing a system where "Less Is More". Wall Street can not relate to Less Is More!

I use Graphtech TUSQ picks. Have tried all of them, bright toned, warm toned and deep toned ones and I like warm toned the most. These picks sound quite different than most nylon and plastic ones out there. I use them for about three years now and I havent thought about using any others. They are very precise and they bring out every detail of playing.

I just picked up a mixed set of Timber Tones in leather for some bass recording. Great, sound just like fingers with the speed and agility of a pick. Quite durable too. Bit pricey but absolutely worth it. Tried some strumming on a Strat with them. Not bad at all. They have this soft attack but well balanced. Good for funk riffs.
