Hey NAppel I hope the house moving is going smooth (hide) I know how frustrating that can be. All the best and try not to scratch your guitars while moving

Hey Nappel my man! I just realized yesterday that the SC550 has a partially hollow body, similar to the Red Special I think. I just wonder if your Vintage guitar also was a bit hollow?

One more request for you mate I know you take off the custom strings so when you do it can you please lift out one humbucker and look if the flame top is truly a maple veneer or just a very good photo print. I will not be taking off the custom D'addarios until they are dead hence asking you to do it I hope your home renovation goes smooth!

The Vintage was "more" hollow than the HB..had more chambers. Felt wrong! The HB is much better in every aspect IMO

So much else to do here! i cannot believe that its a photoprint.. the grain changes its color when you move the guitar in the sun. but i will check that as soon as i can. Yes the Studio is done 95%. currently uploading the review i did today. finally...

Oh man your flame top looks more even mine has a dark middle section which I like but yours is more like the one on Thomanns photo. Nice.
Yes the flame is really "flaming when you move it so Im confident its a real maple flame. Henning told me that when he said "fake" he meant a thin veneer layer but I think its a thick layer. He simply cant believe this because only expensive Gibsons have such AAAA thick flame veneers.
Looking forward to your review man!

yeah, i noticed his "fake top" sentences in this "9 HB guitars unboxing" video. Never heard of fake tops. i think its a 1mm thick veneer on top of a maple board. i will post a pic about it when i looked "under the hood"

One question mate;
How is the sustain on your SC 550 compared to the L-450+ and the Vintage guitar you had before? I still have tiny issues with the sustain on my SC550 but bellow the 12th fret

i got less sustain on the sc 550 compared to the l450 (the vintage was completely dead).
i also got vibrations on the tune o matic bridge while playing. so… these vibrations are the sustain killer imo. its not bad…but its noticable

I have not noticed any vibrations on the bridge so far. The tuners do stay in tune very well and I love thse pots man they sure are very sensitive and one can get some interesting sounds from them. Did you have any uneven frets?
