Supposing I wanted one, which should it be? For what reason? Price doesn't matter, I would probably steal it on ebay anyway.
(Yes, I want to use that B string I bought yesterday…)

Sire makes some very good 5 strings for a nice price, the V3 and the M2.

You showed a photo of a 5 string bass in another thread today. I though you had bought it With a low B on a bass it might be wise to buy a better bass amplifier also? Get a hi-tek EQ rack too to shape it all around. You don't want to waste that extra string that's for sure!

When I got my bass, the first thing I wanted to play was something from him. I saw him live too, long ago, with Miles Davis. I iike this one (and for 279€, this is a Harley Benton price): I already have a bass in a similar colour… but I still like it…

Then that active Jazz Bass Deluxe sort of fell on me. This is a dangerous place. The extra string is not the only reason, I also have an empty bass case yawning around. Anyway, I have looked at the HBZ-2005 for a while, then always regretted I couldn't get a Jazz Bass without a pickguard (and with frets, please, I'm not ready to do without those). The B-550 is cheap but looks a little too plain and I wonder what it is really worth. I've seen guitar players review it… The PJ-5 is too red, the PJ-75 too… solid colour, the Music Man clones too round (although… maybe not and they sound "interesting"), the BZ-5000 too… horny. Did I miss any?

With blue strings! Nice I'll put Black Nylons on mine so that has to fit too. So many things one has to think of when buying a guitar…

Did I miss any? I used to have a jazz bass. Cannot remember if it had a pickguard but it was made by Fender. Had other basses too but I could never get to grips with them. Long stretches between frets and strings that felt like a hangman's noose. Just too much like hard work for me. I don't think you have missed anything. I enjoy to watch the habits of lottery winners. As you were.

The thick strings were a bit of a worry on the first day. It felt like playing bridge cables but I got my action down and found they do not need to be plucked hard, or maybe I just got used to it all. I also find my fretting hand moving more on bass than on guitar, because of the lesser amount of strings (yes, I know of 7-string basses, that's for another day). And the relative difficulty teaches a certain form of economy and care, so it's all benefit, really.

I never gave mine the attention they deserved to be honest. I tried but not hard enough.just was not in me. Useful to have around for my bass playing friends though. I sat in for a bass player once at very short notice. It was a nightmare for all concerned. I was not asked again

Fender Japan? Seems like an okay price to me but I am not a fan of floral designs.
