Could that neck problem have happened during shipping? Also I think so It is probably the only time this can happen. They come from the factory in large quantities, in palettes which no man can lift alone, let alone shake or drop on their head. I suppose such a palette can slide on a ship or in a plane but I wouldn't expect it to happen as much as a single parcel stacked together with others of various sizes in whatever vehicle the post office uses on the way. Besides, damage to the packaging would be spotted.

The sound of the neck bucker is very nice and round, big, I like it. The Middle single coil is also nice but the bridge is too thin, works well when together with the middle. Would be nice to hear the 2 buckers togther in series and parallel!
Im sure this neck thing happened in transport as the styrofoam is really damaged heavily. Not sure squeez would do this damage but a drop onto the headstock could.
I could ask for replacement screws but Im afraid this drop might have cracked the part of body between the neck humbucer and neck pocket. I havent taken anything apart as I want to return it!

I packed the guitar back into the box making it ready to go back as soon I get the reply from Thomann but curiosity took over me and I just had to have a peek into the neck pocket and under the PG. So I gently took off the parts just to find a square piece of sand paper under the neck heel!!! Maybe there was no hit into the neck during trasport and the styrofoam was just squashed. Under the sand paper there is a slight bumb in the wood. Im not sure if they leave it that way so to adjust the angle of the neck a bit? The pickup cavities are painted with graphite paint (hand job with brush). The tone and volume are big pots not those tiny ones we usually find in HB's. Everything looks very tidy under the hood. I placed the 3rd spring back into the tremolo block and tuned the guitar. All from action to intonation is good enough. No buzzes and all frets seem fine. The trem block is not that cheap thin one you usually get on cheap Strats. Its not the fattest but is very fat indeed. You can't see this from above but once you take off the trem block cover you clearly see this bridge is one of those heavy ones. Neck needed a bit of relief. I have played it for an hour throuhg my Bugera V55 and all my pedals and truth be told , these pickups have no life in them. I knowthis after playing them for a while and then took my ST and TE with Ironstone and DiMarzios and man what a HUGE difference in dynamics, so THESE Roswells are destined to go into a bin! Not sure what to do! The neck feels great to play and these stainless steel frets are just joy to play and so shiny too The distance between the neck and body is due to this sand paper! Not sure what to do with it and why they placed it there! I have seen this same thing in my old G&L Fallout! I hate having things like that between the neck and body! And 2 of those neck heel screws are bit bent so maybe this guitar did get a hit?! And that slight bumb in the neck pockets wood! Hm ... ? This guitar costs a lot, for my budget that is! Do I want to keep it and then add more money into all the pickups? I hoped some will sound good and then change 1 or maybe 2 but in this case ALL need changing. Hm, ... ? The neck/fretbaord/frets is lovely to play and the back of the neck too and this modern C shape suits me fine. Body is fine too and the weight. Im only worried about that neck pocket-neck heel joint! Damn it!

I will lower the buckers and see what that gives but its not that, not about hot but dynamics of it. I hate when all strings just get shoved by a bad pup into a flat wall! I like each string to pop on its own, each note you hear detailed with the chord. As on my other guitars having Ironstone and DiMarzio. But I will play it tonight some more once me kid goes to bed (free time , ... if you a parent ye know what Im talking about)

Oh, the locking tuners are to lock the string and that they do I guess. My bad, as I thought they are to "lock the tuner" so it can not turn anymore until you unlock it This my first encounter with locking tuners so please excuse me ignorance But the retainer bar makes some beastly noises when using the trem or tuning! That one must gofor sure!

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

Hmm, don‘t understand what Thomann QC has to do with ****ty postal handling? If the postal services dropped that package in a way causing bent neck screws then nothing would‘ve prevented that. Inform Thomann so that they know it. This really sucks. DHL here in Germany delivered all guitars in perfect condition so you seem to have bad luck.

So what remains now. If I have this correctly there is a bump in the neck pocket. Without seeing a a photo I guess this can be easily remedied with a file. The pickups are what they are. Some may like em etc. Maybe you can sleep on it and negotiate a deal with Thomann with regards to replacement items, neck screws and so on. We should not have to do this with a new instrument but it is what it is. It is also possible that you might discover other irregularities.

My problem is the opposite. My thomann DIY tele kit seems to me better than my Strato '83 made in usa. The neck of DIY TE it's so nice and the pickups are good (specially boosting it with my booster/preamp Behringer PB100 ... I know that It is cheap pedal .... maybe I'm also mad ... but I love it) too compared to my Fender Strato '83 USA that now it's an old guitar ... but it's strange for me this sense of disgust with my lovely Fender ... that was a partner in my musical life ... and now my Fender favor are only for a self-built 80 euro tele thomann kit and the other one the tele TE 90 FLT ( so nice with the reverse headstock that make cool Fender bending in E high string and B string ... what I pleasure to bend them!!!).

I thought having a reverse headstock would make the B and high E more difficult to bend?

It has A LOT to do with Thomann QC as there was NO DAMAGE on the large Thomann box! Thomann did ask me to send photos of the boxes and all ... I hope they will not blame it on me ... after owning the guitar for a few hours! Any way the long process of returning has begun!
