This looks really useful. I am impressed with what I see. But at 228 euros is it a bridge too far?

Its a bridge too far. All you need is a NUT well cut so strings dont get cought in it. Lubricate the nut slots also helps! No rocket science can fix tuning if the nut is cut too tight for the strings!

I think the advantages with the Vegatrem are we can lock the strings in the saddles and the device can be set flush with the body. We can pull up quite far without hitting the body If we just use our trems for a shimmer type effect then maybe they would not be so beneficial.

Indeed, I use my trem for a slight wobble/shimmer effect.
