I do not own this pedal, but I got chance to try it when I visited a friend. Although I did not get to try it in depth, the brief experience I had with this pedal was positive. There was no audible hum when on a clean setting, although when the drive was boosted it did get a little dirty (and not in a great way). From this brief experience, I think I would be more tempted by the Behringer BDI21 which is just over half the price. I will see if I can borrow the pedal to do some more "in depth" testing, unless you guys can offer any personal experiences.

It's a preamp like any other.Have clean and dirt,EQ and input and outputs. You can run straight to PA system or your amp etc etc.

Basically the pedal offers a preamp that gives you control over various parameters to "shape your tone". There are no videos on the web to share (maybe I can borrow it and make a video, if I get chance), but there is a video of the Behringer BDI-21 (which I believe kodiakblair has). The Harley Benton is very similar to the Behringer, but the HB has a 3 band EQ rather than the 2 band that the Behringer has (also the Behringer is just over half the price). This is what the Harley Benton BDI-2000 has: Here is a quick video of the Behringer BDI-21 to give you an idea of what it can do: Also, here is a review that has been "google-ated" from the German forum Musiker-Board (sorry, but I didn't have time to clean up the translation): " Review Harley Benton BASS DRIVE BDI-2000 (is my first, so do not hesitate to criticize)
I needed a DI box, besides, I was looking for something to get a slightly distorted, warm bass sound. Portable it should be, and of course cheap. I stumbled upon the just come out part of the big T. Since it has the 30 day money-back option, have ego me directly ordered times.
Price: 59 € 9V battery included
functions
Inputs / outputs: -Bass Input (jack) -output (For amp jack) XLR Out -Parallel Out (TRS) -DC 9V (power supply)
pots: -Level -Blend -Drive -Treble -Middle -Bass -Contour -Color
switch: -GND / LIFT Footswitch to activate
Physical / first impressions
Rugged, Heavy Metal housing, design, I find not even that bad. Plastic pots also act fairly stable, clearly indicate where you are going and quite heavy, to my mind but not too heavy (EQ potentiometers rest easy way centered on). All in all, for such a cheap part but a pretty decent first impression. Only the (English) User has failed quite poor.
So purely battery, plug in and go. Have the device tested with the following equipment (unfortunately only at home, my right investment orphaned just a little bit in the rehearsal room): Yamaha BB405 (two single-coils) with just reared Elixir Nanoweb, a Behringer Ultrabass BX3000T (transistor-top) to ner rather old self-made 4x10er box.
sound
Overall Impression: Overall, I find the sound is not bad, but with the Drive knob I'm either not clear or Zerre is nothing (for my taste, of course) .. But writable ego closer look: When switched off the works BDI-200 in principle as a DI box. From the output is the unbalanced signal, are for the symmetrical's either the XLR out (I've also used for recordings) or the jack'parallel out '. When the power is then all controllers are active: The EQ actually works quite well for my ears. The Colour controller is if I understand correctly, a low-pass filter, which means it cuts off heights. This is evident even in light turning very clear after calming quarter turn are gone, the heights and it really does not happen much. Here, then, will probably be dosed. The Contour control changes the sound a bit different in the manual is "improve the brightness and intensity of sound." Agrees somehow sounds alittle bit of modern (excuse the imprecise expression, can not bear better name). Drive is a gain control, I had to turn up very far, damits distorted, but somehow zerrts only briefly after striking (see or hear sound file), and sounds to my ears somehow cheap. The Pan Control adjusts the mix between original and processed signals. Level controls the output (for the XLR output, parallel out I unfortunately can not test for lack of cable). Instead, there's me first to say, give further insight hopefully the sound files.
Conclusion
For the price of a good thing, the sound I was only partially convinced, especially the Zerre (at least in the tested Setup) still does not fit me. Keep Werds probably because I eh ne DI box needed and the part is great of course exactly conducive to pick things up times ..
