Arrived today!
Do you know the feeling when you grab an instrument not perfectly set-up but feels great in your hands? Well this shorty P bass felt like that! Everything about this bass feels so very solid. Feels Just Right! Immediate love I felt for it! This did not happen with the HB Dynamic, CST24 P90, TE-90FLT etc ... which are guitars but there was something off in their nature, all from thin sounding pickups to dodgy looking Roseacer fretbaord or else. This bass seems totally fine out of the box.
It needed a slight truss rod adjustment and will need proper pup hight set-up and string action but even like this its an enjoyable instrument.
Yes, it is neck heavy but still not a deal breaker as this Roseacer fretboard is so good looking Im even starting to think it might be Ebony! I am not big fan of Roseacer fretbaords as those on SC and CST models have open pores and look like they have baked them a bit too long (yes they kind of look over-dried). This one just looks so solid and feels solid. Maybe the open pore fretbaord comes only with SC and CST's ? If so one should certainly look into getting guitars with no neck binding as they might be using the more solid Roseacer boards for those (just me assuming here).
The frets look like JUMBO! Lots of thick fret wire here! Feels great! I haven't checked if all frets are leveled but so far no dead spots on any of them so good enough for me.
The neck-body connection fits 100%! No gap, not even for a paper to slide into (Im very finicky about his and happy it is so).
Tuners are not 100% aligned but work as they should. Nut could be cut a bit deeper I think but will do for now.
There is some ground buzz when Tone is on Full but this bass anyway sounds best when tone is on about 3-4 and the buzz goes away at such low tone. Will shield and check grounding later.
Amazing what one gets for 79 Euros!
The Little Beasty has joined my HB family
What a nice looking Roseacer (never thought I will say this)
What a looker and lightweight too
