Impossible to unscrew without leaving scratches on the screws. Visible ones. Use a widish rubber band between the screw and screwdriver, it should act as a gasket and prevent mark or slipping. BTW, thanks for the tip I used rubber gloves instead. Placed the screwdriver into the pinky of the glove and off I went taking screws out without leaving trace of use

Placed the screwdriver into the pinky of the glove and off I went taking screws out without leaving trace of use The rubber band trick was first shown to me as a way to remove a damaged/stripped screw. This was back in the 70s when people didn't realise Phillips and PZ (pozi drive) where different and ****ed the screws. So if you ever have to remove a screw with a mashed up head remember to have a selection of rubber bands.

Hm, ... the more I play this G20 the less I enjoy playing my gitars as the tone is really nothing to die for. It really shows how important good tone is (good for me might not be good for you though). Im sure this amp's cranked Hi-gain tone is something Stoner and Metal Heads would die for as Im sure that was the market Bugera was after with this head. DefJef you can sure try this one for yourself but Im not sure this amp will make you happy. Maybe, maybe not. This Dirt channel can certainly drive in a flute like sustained manner but there is that Hi-gain metal aspect to it, the aspect of too much push. Maybe that is exactly you are after. Not me though. Maybe this amp would sound better through the Bugera 112TS cab? But that also cost extra money so ... hm, ... bit tired of ordering and sending backstuff all the time No one is selling Bugera amps in my locality so no chance to try it out before buying!

Is your V55 speaker vintage voiced or whatever it is they term it as? Perhaps the G20 works better with modern sounding speakers? It's a potential minefield with the choice of speakers available.

Yes I think the Bugera speaker is based on Jensen vintage speakers. Chasing speakers can turn into a very expensive hobby

I can relate to that stress around tweaking EQ knobs for ages and still not getting any joy out of it all Love the way I set my V55 and then just play the guitar. I seem to be tweaking this G20 almost as much as the Katana 50! Nah, thats a lie, this G20 still has a tube like tone just more urgent and more cutting edge mean machine like which just aint me. Maybe I should just be happy with my V55 and call it a day?!

Might be handy in a mix when paper thin is what's needed. Ah yes, "in the mix" I've heard that many times. You know what; if you need paper thin then you can easily EQ that in post production but its hard to make sound "organic" full bodied, 3D. At least we have our favorite amps and that is important as thats what matters "in the room" where we get inspired to make music rather than how it sounds later "in the mix" which can always be EQ in DAW.

Haven't played G20, my G5 is all I can go by...
Clean channel isn't anything to brag about, usually keep the tone knob almost all the way up, unless I run my Metal End in front.
Drive channel is pretty good, but I do feel like it could have bit more gain. I mean, distortion kicks hard, but lacks "hairiness". Tho boost pedal can help

I agree, this amp is MADE FOR METAL It certainly can get more gain with a Proper OD pedal to give it more or even Boost as you say. Certainly not an amp for me as I need the clean to have lots of headroom o my pedals can shape the "tone" of it all. I aslo find Delay and Reverb sounding better into front of the amp then into FX Loop but for this the channel needs good clean and nice ammount of headroom.
