Dave loves the guitar and the pick-ups but hates the neck (which is almost as thick as that of the regular ST-62):

This guy makes great videos and brings a lot of added value with his lessons and nerdism (in case someone is looking for something to watch).

Lessons? I didn't know about lessons. I've just seen him transform amp demos into long improvisations worth watching just for the music. I don't usually watch amp demos…
This one starts with Voodoo Chile:

The Fender Champion has a 12” Celestion “Midnight 60” speaker, also used in Marshall and Peavey Classic, non-modelling amps. The modelling Fender Mustang GT100 has "Celestion® Special Design speakers that not only enhance your instrument’s tone, they sound great when streaming Bluetooth audio". That's a "hi-fi" type speaker.

This comparison video shows how hopeless the Fender Champion will be when overdriven in comparison to the Katana:
I'm not sure I share that opinion, since I found the Katana terribly harsh in that very example and I suppose I'll have to watch another video for more overdriven Champ 50XL.

I found a nice, succinct but comprehensive demo of the Champion 50 XL. It really makes a good case for the amp: Listening to that Andertons video, I also prefer it to the Katana all along. They say it's from the speaker, which is the major difference with the older Champion 40.

All they need to do now is build a much nicer box around the 50XL. That's what Dave thought too but he liked the amp so much he had it done. That intro is well worth listening to as well:

Interesting stories. Of course I have no idea how my Mustang sounds in comparison to those (although at low volume it is more like the Champ) but I wonder if these issues would also turn up with it or one of its bigger brothers.
