So I have one of these. Always fancied an LP style guitar and I like the zebra pick ups. I think for the price this is good value. Watched several YouTube videos and it looked good, but in the flesh the guitar is quite ugly. However, it is so ugly you have to love it! 😁 I think I would advise those with a weak stomach to go with the more handsome tobacco burst one rather than the yellowy Amber one. My stripes aren’t as defined as ones I had seen online. The finish is good though and I can’t find any blemishes.
It could probably do with a proper set up. In the meantime the action is high, but I can’t get a turn on the screws to bring it down. Any tips?

First of all, the Faded Tobacco version has different pick-ups: Roswell LAF (for "loud as f…") while the Paradise Flame has Roswell HAF ("hot as f…"). The HAF are in most of the Fusion models while the LAF are also in the HB-35 Plus, the CST-24 HollowBody and one Fusion model, recognisable at the chrome covers.
Be careful with that screw. It should turn, unless it's already all the way down, but you should see that. You'll need a screwdriver that fits the diameter to avoid eating up the slit. I have one such screw with bite marks from a previous, careless owner. It is not the toughest metal. Maybe putting a piece of something (cloth?) between screw and driver is a good idea.

Use a thick rubber band as a gasket in the screw slot. It will eliminate slips and fill any slack also works on crosshead screws.

The Faded Tobacco Flame is much more classical:

'The Faded Tobacco Flame is much more classical'
That's what I also think. I fitted Vanson '57 Alnico II pickups to mine and to my ears it sounds fantastic. I also had to fit a pickguard as my third finger on my strumming hand has a metal pin holding it together and my finger sticks out straight and scratches the surface too much. It looks good though.

I have had the opportunity to play several L550/L450+/CST24 and CST24HB, some of them before and after a pickup upgrade and complete setup, these 3 last years..... and all I can say is that if you prefer the LP shaped ones, you are just doing a big mistake.
I have nothing against the LP thing, but when it comes to HB, the CST models are far better in every aspects.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I know. It can be a bit of a trick of the light with these sometimes hallon but sometimes I wonder whether I don't own a Clownburst with my Aria Pro II depending on the light. Just to be safe I keep it in a lockable case in a lockable cupboard. Yours look way better, at least judging from the pics, dont worry

I always think those cherry and honey type bursts look better when they have faded DefJef. But I suppose it depends on what the finish is on the guitar. You could always hang it in your Squier tree in the garden if we get some sunny warm days? Personally I don't think your is ugly but I'm a les paul freak. 🎸 😍

I know some polys have what they call UV blockers, but how successful these are I don't know. Likewise I've never checked for UV protection when purchasing poly.
