Thomann sent the replacemebt switch Monday night/Tuesday morning so it is in transit. If they hadn't shipped it I would have emailed them not to bother DefJef. Hopefully I won't need it, I don't know if the bending of the lugs has weakened them? There is a reasonable amount of pressure required to hold it together. I'll have to see how it holds up over time, but it all appears tickety boo!

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

That strat in gold does look good DefJef 😊 I know. I wish I'd never imagined it now . I'm already looking around for cheap Squiers to do it to but, thankfully, maple fingerboards on cheap Squiers seem very hard to come by. Gold bodied ones almost non-existent. So, due the amount of potential cost/disastrous spraying it will have to remain a pipe dream....

One bad experience with a paint job shouldn't put you off you got there in the end DefJef. And you won't make the same mistake again. The maple fingerboard Squier's are difficult to find, but as you know worth their weight in gold (excuse the pun). 😉

Received a replacement 3way switch from Thomann today. Pleasantly surprised it was a branded JA switch not like the unbranded one Thomann sent me a picture of and the type I have in my spares stash.
Just for info purposes the JA switches have a firmer action/click and are a tad bigger. They feel a little more robust than the Chinese unbranded ones I have experience of.
Forgot to say Thomann's Customer service was good once I got through the first two people. The third guy answered promptly and answered my questions fully. 👍

It does have some weight to it. I had an issue with the G String ringing too much. Replaced the bridge and made Sure it was slotted deep enough. I’ve also changed the pickups. That seemed to help quite a bit also. Next I’m going to re wire it so you can cut one volume. Don’t want it blended volume. Like the guitar though Well worth the price
