That pick-up cover is right where I'd want to be plucking though. I hear what you're saying, it is going to necessitate an adjustment in right hand position. I do pick quite near the end of the neck but normally my fingers would be right over the pickup. Needless to say when after a more trebly sound I can rest my thumb on the guard and play between the covers. It may well prove tricky to adjust, but it looks SO damn cool!

Wow, that´s an extreme mod for sure. Depending on your style and music you play that is probably exactly what you need. I can see a lot of work went into that bass so I really love modding with dedication. :-D Interesting look on your control plate - care to explain what switching options you implemented there?

Well Alex,
at the front end are vol and tone passive followed by a pickup switch ( front/ both/ rear).
The next switch in front of the following 3 knobs is a aktive/ passiv mode switch, which puts the pickups to the passiv or active electronics.
The following big knob is vol, the small ones bass and treble. the last switch is for single coil mode of the humbucker. It bypasses the front coil.
I considered to implement a parallel/ inline switch for the humbucker. But, the sound difference to the given possibilities was not that great.. so I canceled this idea.
I mainly use 3 combinations:
Front PU passive - P-style
Humbucker active. - MM - style
and both PU, Humbucker single. ( jazz bass style)
