DefJef, my dog doesn't like my playing as it is, and I'm sure he would not be a fan of the microphonic SG.

Initially I was thinking WOW, I can hear it, then I realize I was not not hearing it. The single string plucks made me think I could, but then I realized I was hearing "E" against "e", Not "E/E..." nor any other singled out string comparison. The playing/chord runs sounded enough alike, i couldn't tell. Sat with my eyes closed, all sounded the same.
Granted in the room there may be differences, but for me on this side of YT. I couldn't hear anything. Maybe my dog would be a better judge.
Fun stuff.

In middle position either volume control will turn both down, this is "authentic" traditional behaviour, apparently.
Feedback sounds like microphonic issue, maybe hasn't been potted.
I could be wrong, though.
I did not know this about the middle position and the volume controls.Good to know that there was no problem there.

Ah yes, here's a guy who talks about wax potting on LP style pickups. I wished he did an A/B with a high gain setting.

With these on the market how is Gibson and Epiphone even still in business is what I wanna know.Buy one people! Gibson are selling status and fantasy. Harley Benton cannot do that. Epiphone are selling the safety of a trusted, known brand. There is wisdom in this, as for all the good things we now know about Harley Benton, would we even consider trying a Jack & Danny equivalent, the house brand of Thomann's big competitor in Köln? I probably wouldn't. I bought a Harley Benton because I saw positive videos from different people who couldn't all be making it up. I never see anything about Jack & Danny, so I deduct there is nothing worth raving about. Here's one:

I discovered Guitar Max,Jonathon Koh,EytschPi42,and Cory Mura on youtube and they literally changed all my views on Harley Benton guitars......which I actually never heard of before.I was used to spending no less then $1200-$1500 for a guitar thinking anything that cost less was garbage........which it was 10 or so years ago when I bought $500-$800 Ibanez's and they were total garbage.I guess now with all the tech and cnc machines any brand can kick out an amazing playable geetar for chump change and still make a sizable profit.Gibson can go suck a nut. They produce subpar crap and gouge you insane $$$ for it because they have the idiot brand fans that buy it.I am certain Gibson will be suing Thomann/Harley Benton very soon.Gibson can go play authentic in Satan's ass!

I have a 2006 Ibanez SA260 and I think it's quite good. My 2005 S470 has one of the best double locking vibrato system ever designed. Pick-ups are a matter of taste, quite different on both models but nothing I'd want to replace. Both were in the 400€ range and could be perfectly set-up 15 years later. I'm happy with them.
I go with a fret rocker on all guitars I buy and my Ibanez were all perfect, something I cannot say of Harley Benton, most of which needed some minor levelling for optimal set-up (I like low action).
I first watched EytschPi42, Cory Mura and Nick in the States. They made me buy Harley Benton, especially Henning who had the more detailed appreciation of what makes a good enough guitar and what can go wrong with them. Then I found by myself that all the "set-up out of the box" stuff is just nonsense and all guitars I got in my hands could be perfectly adjusted. "Out of the box" doesn't matter to me.
Maybe I've been lucky not to get any warped necks or misplaced bridges. I did get faulty or at least funny electronics. I fixed them. I filed a few frets down too, it's about as difficult as filing nails and I'm not one of those guys with a second home full of tools in the cellar. I don't do things myself, never cared for that, but I bought a cheap file, a cheap soldering iron and the rest comes from a basic toolbox.
With Roswell pick-ups, Harley Benton can get really good at 150€. Not sure about models below.

The toggle switch thing in the middle position was my own ignorance of how a Les Paul p/ups are configured. My luthier friend tested the black one's bridge pup today and it is shot.Thomann disagree's but so be it.Gonna slap a Tone Zone in there and call it a day.

That feedback is a mechanical thing. I'm sure it can be solved by inserting something somewhere either in or around the pickup. In the latter case, replacing the pick-up itself wouldn't even help. It works or there would be no sound at all.

We tried foam and took off the cover but the problem still existed.Pup is toast from the factory. It is a $137 that plays great.....add a $102 Tone Zone and at under $240 with an amazing Gibson killer I can not complain.

You can send Thomann a clear description of what you tried and ask them for either further steps to take to identify the issue or a replacement pick-up. Debugging this with you will cost them more so they should offer you a new pick-up or a partial refund. If you already wish to install a pick-up of your choice in there, the partial refund will lower its price and is a fair outcome since you bought something faulty.
