Hi all. I recently got an amazing SC Custom, but have a couple of issues, one of which may be a deal breaker. First, it is s stunner and sounds amazing. However, roll off either volume and it starts to sound muddy really fast The bigger issue, however, is that you can't turn the volume on the bridge off completely unless you also turn off the neck volume! This is causing me some real issues as to go silent, I have to roll of both really quickly, meaning I can't have the neck volume preset while I'm playing. Anyone else have this issue and found a simple fix? I don't want to send it back, but this is a pain and seems to be by design!

I've not any experience of a 3 knob set up on an LP. I have 4 knob versions and a 2 knob special. I have added a treble bleed to my 2 knob set up that cleand mine up very well. It wont sort out your vol problem though. I know the vintage (50's) and modern also Jimmy Page wiring for the 4 knob. That 3 knob set up must have variations available? Hopefully someone will have an answer for you.

It is likely wired like a Jazz Bass. It could be re-wired like a Les Paul with just one tone. It's a simple change. A treble bleed would help with the loss of highs at low volume but I read that this can be a consequence of the Jazz wiring, so it would be worth making the first change and see what comes out.

I opened my SC-7, which has the same 2 volume + 1 tone configuration as a SC-Custom. It is wired like a Jazz Bass, pick-ups connected to the middle lug of the volume pots (the variable one).
