Sounds good. But distortion is the amplifier's contribution, so anything playable works and the original tone from the guitar is like covered with it. It's like a woman in a fur coat. The thicker it gets, the less her shape matters.

Hello! The cheapest Squier Stratocaster is very surprisingly good sounding with its single coils! Save your money! (Signal chain in description).

I've the hardtail version of this, funnily enough bought from Thomann.
I've had lots of Squier bass guitars from cheap to dearer ones, always been great consistent quality...this Hardtail guitar I've received is a proper wrong ern...dreadful high frets at the dusty end, loose trussrod, bit missing from skunk stripe, blue marks on rear of neck and amazingly blue marker tinge on one of the high frets, hmm a story there!
Even with a high action it buzzes like a hornets nest. It's also got the same crap bridge and pot metal saddles as my Squier Mustang (crap again) which means the intonation screws hit the string causing the whole saddle to lift and rattle like a skeleton having a tug in a tin dustbin when the string is played.
Very disappointed, will be going back to Thomann this week for a refund.
