As you know, I no longer buy HB, but a friend after buying it decided to give me a st-62 mn vw model 2019. I already owned a st-62 sb 2017/2018 and on this I had detected a neck not exactly 62 era a discrete tuners, a pickguard with holes not in standard stratocaster a discrete pickups, but too little vintage very ringing. All in all, except for a hole in the excavation where the springs are located, the work seemed to me considering the moderately acceptable price. The freets are worked well and are not sharp. What will the new arrival be like? Worst tuners and different models, freet machined and very sharp, pickups even more Argentine vintage is a pure memory. The abbreviation is however the same even if the labels have different indications. For now, I know the thinner neck with a satin finish instead of gloss as in the older one. The pickguard is now interchangeable with the other stratocasters. Even the Tremolo has changed, but I wouldn't know which of the two is worse. I know that many people will not think like me but after all, I asked myself, is it worth spending about 200/250 euro on this model to fix the problems or buy a squier cv directly which also has an almost perfect basic setup or probably thomann sbould be make better obviously also raising its price! It's a shame because they are aesthetically beautiful.

Very interesting. How thick is the neck on the new one?

If you don't buy HBs then why did you want this one? Hmmm... I'll take any guitar you don't want. As long as it's free. I love working on cheap guitars.

Given away to friends when they pile up too high? Something's telling me I should sell all mine while the hype lasts. I know I could get my money back on German ebay because I bought them all used or well discounted. But I don't want to… yet.

A CST-24 Black and a SC-550 Black Cherry. I've had some issues with the lower end models. Not quality wise ... more along the lines of it not agreeing with me.

I fixed them all and they are perfectly serviceable as well as good looking. Even the "deko". I have no real lower end models, except maybe that R-458 which I find quite alright after I upgraded the wiring with two series/parallel switches. It's a plain instrument but has no particular flaws. I even like the pick-ups. The old B-400FL was flawed, ok. Seriously. But that's a cheap one from about 15 years ago. If I ever part with them, it will be to make room or out of some silly whim to replace them with something better that I couldn't sell. But I like them all. It would be difficult.

I really like the HB's also. I tried the Explorer clones, and they just didn't work for me. I also had an SC-Custom, but I sold it to a friend. So not sure that counts. ha ha I think I'm good for now, unless they come out with something different. There's a B-stock SC-550 for $200. That's a really good deal. But since I have one already, no point duplicating. I probably won't do any Strat or Tele clones, because I can get good Squiers for cheap, cheap, cheap around here. BUT ... I do like the matte black one that Jon Koh was showing us. Great price.

I tried an 8-string guitar, a fanfret, a semi-hollow body, a fretless bass, a 7-string bass, a Les Paul shape with Harley Benton. I know I won't buy another Les Paul shaped thing and will avoid the Gibson scale. I would have tried a Floyd Rose with the S-620 if the blue version had been available earlier. I got an Ibanez S instead, so I'm fine with that. Squiers are not dirt cheap here. I can get a used Affinity Strat' for the price of a new ST-62 but they don't come with maple necks and I like that look. Oh, and I got to try a thick neck with the ST-62 as well, so that's one more experiment. I'm a curious one. Hope I won't buy a dulcimer next…

Also, Reverb, ebay, and even SGW are charging tax. I purchased two Squiers last night .... a red and a white NC. Full thickness body, wide neck, pool cavity route ... my favorite modding platform. BUT ... with shipping, handling, and tax, both came out to be over $100. Maybe time for me to try out the matte black ST-62 when they come available. $73 + shipping is a steal for a new guitar. New HB for the price of a used Squier. You're right about that. What am I thinking I'm going to order 3 matte black ST-62's when they're available.

No complaints about pick-ups? I wish someone would compare them to the Roswell STA of the ST-62 and to those dirt cheap Vision Strat's MSA are throwing at people for 50€ on ebay. Well, actually I would expect them to be the same as those in the kit and I know these are duller but not junk. Here they are compared to the Roswell and a Fender:

Here they are compared to the Roswell and a Fender: To be honest, I can't bear to change the pickups of my ST-20 at this juncture (not sure if I will change my mind in the near term). I just don't have much to complain about them. It is just strange...considering I have changed the stock on Fusion Pro II and CST-24 almost quite quickly after acquiring them. If it helps, I have recorded a quick audio demo of the ST-20 with clean, crunch, high gain and playing over a backing track (something that I've been learning of late) with the crunch tone. Please pardon my amateurish playing. https%3A//soundcloud.com/user-65123822/st20
