Greetings everyone from the state of Nebraska in the U.S.A.!
(Don't hold that against me.) Lol
A little about myself...
I am 56 years old and have been playing guitar for over 43+ years along with dulcimer, mandolin, bass, banjo, and lap steel.
For the majority of that time my two main guitars were a 1971 Fender stratocaster and a 1974 Gibson les paul deluxe with the mini humbuckers that comes in that model.
I have never been a brand snob as I own/have owned a slew of inexpensive instruments such as the Epiphone les paul special II which I have been going nuts on lately. (I own three of those now.) Lol I will tell you this though, the quality of those models are all over the place.
Nothing luckily that I couldn't fix so far...
About the Harley Benton now...
I researched the Fusion II models for over a year before deciding on the Fusion-II HSH EB FPU. (Purple flame, ebony fretboard.)
I got a good one straight out of the box! Well cut nut, excellent stainless steel frets that have no sharp ends and level with no high spots on all 24.
Although the action was way too high for my liking, with a couple of small truss rod adjustments and saddle adjustments I was able to get it around 2mm at the 12th fret with no buzzing anywhere.
After that the intonation was almost on the money other than the g string being a little sharp.
Personally I have never had a guitar in my life that was as easy to set up as this fusion II.
I am simply astounded to say the least.
The pickups are a little hot for me in this model, but completely usable so they will stay. I have no plans on making any changes actually as it fits perfectly for the type of music I play which is 80s heavy metal. (Judas Priest,Accept,Scorpions,Iron Maiden,Queensryche, etc..)
This guitar is well worth the $275 dollars U.S. I gave and then some. I plan on buying two more of the fusion II's, but first is the Harley Benton TE-90FLT VW Deluxe I have had my eye on. Maybe a SC custom too. Lol
Also I would like to add that the purchase transaction and mailing/tracking to the U.S. went flawlessly on this order. No damage to the instrument or the outside of the box for that matter! I hope all orders in the future go this smoothly. Thank you Thomann!
I am a Harley Benton convert. I love them! I apologize in advance for any bad grammar or spelling errors as I am typing this from a badly outdated smartphone.
I would post some photos, but still trying to figure out how on the forum. The phone I am using is a samsung Galaxy a50 so, if anyone knows how with this model I would greatly appreciate it.
Best regards,
Jeffrey
