Hello HB ppl,
a question: is sct-24 neck from one piece of wood or is it glued near the headstock - around 2 frets lower ?
Thanx
Cheers

The headstock is glued, just like on any guitar with angled headtstock, no matter the price the brand
Yes it's glued higher than Gibson stantadards, and it makes it surdier also .... Gibson is the only brand ( not even €pi does it ) that glues the headstock at nut level ... this is what makes its legend ... of reglued headstocks

Otherwise it is one piece.

Yep. Never have thunderbird. I even have one in a cupboard but there's something about design that either gets me or it doesn't...and this one does. I'm a sucker for maple boards and plainer designs and not too much gloss. They even allow me to accept the inlays. It'd be perhaps a bit too plain without them. I guess I could have pushed it towards mini humbuckers but what's the chances of that?! It just so happens someone is offering me a similar looking guitar for about £140 and I don't need it...

Really johnnyo? I've not heard of this. The old LP was always a scarf joint here: I reckon mahogany WITHOUT that joint could be even more prone to breakages than they already are. Yes, definately no glued joint anywhere in the length of the neck/headstock. I will try to use this opportunity to learn how to post pictures. ) tomorrow

Doesn't matter. Even one piece at purchase, it will turn glued one day or another
