Ok after seeing this video I decided to try this out with my Harley Benton CG-15 watt amp. It has a tiny 6,5" speaker and it doesn't sound much special This amp is 15 watts into 4 ohms (as its described on Thomann) and after corresponding with Thomann guitar team they told me that it is possible to use a larger speaker as soon its 4 ohms. I think all I have to do is to take out that 6,5" speaker and then drill a hole in the amp body where to place a cab jack socket and thats it. Am I right or am I missing something? I mean those Hotone mini amp heads are like what ?? 5 watts into 4/8/16 ohms and they sound awesome through a 4x12 cab, so ehm what say you fine gear geek folks? Possible? Yes, no, maybe (help) If this project turns to be good I think I will do the same to my Kustom 20 watts 12" amp which has Reverb ...

I think I need a mono socket right? Just checking before I get one.

Enable-disable is the button for the standby. And if I forget to switch off the amp it goes into the standby mode. Starts as soon I hit the strings.
I have never seen this on SS amps.

Oh! I read in my original post above that this tiny speaker doesn't sound good ... That has changed! It sounds awesome overdriven with me goldfoil pickup in the neck! I'm keeping it as it is

Wait a sec, connecting an extra jack to amp is as simple as that? I have crappy 10W Electar 10 laying around, I kind of want to do something like that with this amp Problem is, I don't know how many omps it pumps out. But maybe I will pull a trigger and try to make it into head for pedals

Come to think of it there is a short delay between switching on my Blackstar id Core and sound coming out but it's not as long as it takes for me to reach my guitar. I'm baffled by that standby. Who knows what that's about? Nice simple speaker mod. It would be interesting to know how you could do this without having to take the back off though. Must be a simple splitter or something? When you recorded yours did you use a mic or DI it from the headphone socket or something? I used a cheap Chord 07 mic which is a copy of a Shure57. I explained all in detail in our Rusty String collab thread

It has hiss when turned up (especially if Gain is up). It also has hiss when Volume or Tone are not on either 1 or 10 (on or off) But I did have the volume on 7 for the ending and I had the Volume for the rest on 9. Tone was off. This amp takes well my Digitech RP70. The amps clean channel of course. Again I use very little volume on the amp but roll up the volume on the Digitech instead. I no nothing about harmonicas

I'm suspicious of amps with no hiss at all - indicates there's some kind of noise gate on it and I hate those things. Hiss should be there but not at a loud volume. I think modern amps with flat range speakers (anything with an aux input or which includes digital modeller technology) are hissier than speakers purely optimized for guitars. Now that said - my Fender Stage amp has a fair bit of hiss that is audible up close when no guitar signal is present - but it's a loud bugger so I usually cannot turn it up beyond 1 without advertising my crappy playing to the whole parish.

This amp had tiny amount of hiss with the P90 guitar but more with single coil ST guitar. Maybe I need better shielding? Oh cr a p I have no shielding in my ST 20 !!
