Just thought I would post a picture of my two Standard Series basses, a JB-20 and a PB-20. Both were bought as deko items and have both been upgraded with Entwistle pups (standard JBX's in the JB and PBXN's in the PB) plus Ki-ogon wiring kits. A bit of cosmetic tweeking to taste (scratchplates and the knobs on the JB) and I couldnt be happier.

Entwistles and a loom from the Topman on BC. No wonder you're a happy man

I have not gotten them yet the JB I'll leave standard but on the PB I plan to install Seymour Duncan but not sure yet the stock might do just fine I swapped the the Shorty P pickup (which I believe is the same as the PB-20) for a DiMarzio P from a P/J set that I had in a drawer waiting for another bass to be ready for them. I had it that way for about 6 months until I moved the DiMarzios over to the P/J. I had a Seymour Duncan (SP-3 I think) on order at the time. I was going to just leave the bass without a pickup until the SD arrived, but because it was my only shorty at the time, I decided to reinstall the original p'up to see what the difference was. Once I tried it with the stock p'up, I cancelled the Seymour order. (disclaimer: the bass wears flatwound strings and tonal preferences are different for everyone, so YMMV)

OP, how does the PBXN sound and how does it compare to the stock pickup? I'm seriously considering ordering one myself. And where did you buy it?
