With joining a band as bass player , the amp I had wasnt good enough to compete with a drummer and no good for eventual gigging . kodiakblair kindly gave me a combo he got as part of a package deal on a bass he bought , and although loud enough , it never had any line outs so going into thier PA wasnt really an option . I had been looking on ebay and Gumtree with the view to getting a second hand one . Last night I picked up a Behringer ultrabass 1800A brand new in box and un registered . Its a 1x12 180 watt 7 band EQ with input , headphones , Aux in/out , line out , XLR out , effects send and return and footswitch in , which was also included and allows to switch between the clean and overdrive channels and to switch on the Ultrabass feature , its made out of steel and has a 6 mtr cable . There are as mentioned , 2 channels with gain on 1 and gain , shape and level on 2 . It also has a built in limiter and compressor as well as the 7 band EQ . Its got the aluminium speaker and is extrmemely well built and weighs in at around 48ibs . Ive not really had much chance to put it through its paces yet but Ill be having a go , shortly after Willow is at nursery and have a rehearsal tonight with the band . Ill post more regards the sound and so on after its been put through its paces but so far so good . Im extremely happy :-)
