I'm coming into this with very little understanding..... but can a looper be used to listen to what I've just played... could it be a teaching aid? please forgive this daft question, but I simply do not know.... I think you can use a looper to make a backing rhythem and other bits n bobs ... am I right? if so a little advice please on which one would best go with my Fender Mustang? don't want to spend a lot, but would 100euros be enough? thanks as ever David

thanks as ever David This is a cheap one, but has lots of features:

That Dual Looper has some fine options! I like it!

I was also looking at the Nux Loop Core. They also have a delay pedal with a looper in it (forgot the name). But in the end I couldn't resist the cheap price of the Micro Looper, and I don't really need a lot of extra functions since I use it strictly for practicing.

I have the Nux Time Core which has the Looper function but you can not use the delay with it. I also have the NUX MG-200 which has a Looper and drums and one can even play bass on its Bassman Amp sim to play along with my guitar, nice! I also have a Looper on the Mooer Reechi Pro Twin and with this one you can use the on board delay.
Glad you like the HB Looper we have been discussing it a while ago. So you like the sound of it?

Yes I do. Then again, I only use it for simple chord progressions to practice scales over. I don't think it's gigging material, but if you're looking for that you're probably not looking in the 50 euro price range anyway.

Yes, that is my messy room indeed! Luckily the Yamaha amplifier has been replaced now.

Why? Whats wrong with the Yamaha amp? I was actually looking to get a 2nd hand one. Anything I should know about it? I think it sounds rather good. Is it a 12" speaker? Instead of changing the amp change the speaker if you don't like the sound of it Thomann sells cheap Jensen speakers which are used in some Fender amps. I will soon get one for my Kustom Amp to improve the sound.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I did not like the sound at all to be honest. This is recorded with my cell phone so I wouldn't trust it to judge the audio. The signal cut out from time to time and the distortion channel was pretty bad. It had an 8 or 10 inch speaker (not sure, but definitely not a 12). Not really worth a speaker upgrade IMO.
I have a Harley Benton G112 Vintage cabinet (12" Celestion Vintage 30 speaker) and a Hotone Nano Legacy head now and it sounds heaps better. Also a much better pedal platform.
But, if you're looking for a simple practice amp there is nothing really wrong with it. Also, Yamaha has made a lot of stuff through the years this little amp was my only experience with them. I've heard some of their newer amps are really good.

That's my exact setup! Great clean sounds, and get some great crunchy tones. From what I've read online it handles pedals very well too. Might have to buy an overdrive pedal in the near future.
