For pedals, if you mostly play clean, don't. A decent pedal board can easily set you back a grand or so. Then, IMHO, it's better to invest in a tube and of your liking that has a good 2nd channel with gain and a good clean one.

Not saying i don't want to get into pedals, just saying i have no experience with them, and do not know where to start

Going back a few posts Surge, don't discount the GA5, if you can find one. It's basically the giblets of an Epiphone valve sat in a better made cabinet with the addition of an EQ pot. Mods are also plentiful. Breaks up around 12 o'clock and gets a bit dirty on full without disturbing the neighbors. Sounds like you want more options on the sound from the amp so I've gotta go the V5 route, papache has nothing bad to say about it. Are you really sure you want tubes? And if so why? Maybe look at a hybrid, Vox? Going on the tube & pedal original comments I'd personally go for minimal amp knobs and build your sound bank to your spec with pedals, the HB "tone" series maybe?

Ehm "decent pedal" will not cost so much would it Look at Aliexpress for example. Lots of goodies for pennies Basic pedal board would be an OD, Modulation of your choice, Delay and Reverb. This can't cost a fortune if ordering from China either via eBay or Aliexpress. Bugera V5 Inf. already has a very fine sounding Room Reverb.

I hated processors MartinB, then I was loaned a Boss GT-8. I bought one a week later and now I'm lost without it.

I had an ME-70. Just had a look at the GT-8 and it looks like it's got all the bells and whistles on it.

That doesn't sound much fun. The zoom didn't have the best interface but it gave me an idea of what I liked.
My ME-70 was pretty straightforward.
I can imagine things are a lot different for recording artists and giggers who can't spend an age faffing about.
I'm actually pondering selling my amp and effects and getting the Amplifi TT because I don't really need pedals. I just like the ease of use and sound of what I already have.

The GT-8 is basically an amp interface that sits on the floor DefJef. Pick an amp type, which distortion, chorus, delay etc all by turning good old fashioned knobs. The presets, which can be turned off, are just bank up / down then hit pedal 1 to 4. Brilliantly simple and I'm as thick as soup.

Thanks for trying to help, but this just confuses me more. I do know i'd rather not have a multi-fx pedal because i'd like something easy to use, just stomp on the thing and get said effect, please Suppose i should just go to a music store and try some pedals out, or i'll never get over the hump with this.

No DefJef. I overcomplicated it. Each pedal does one thing. Like having 4 boss pedals on a board. OK, a fifth which is basically a boost.
