Just received my new guitar cases. I ordered the vintage leather look gator case for my yet to arrive Revelation thincaster, and the Thomann tweed case for my HB TE-52. The gator case looks awesome. Nothing wrong with it. But the tweed case has some minor cosmetic issues... There are nails placed after applying the tweed on the bottom side and 2 nail holes next to the handle. I know there are some guys that have the same case. Is this done to all of them, or did I have bad luck with mine? Bottom side; Handle side; I don't really want to go thru the haggle of sending it back, and I'm perfectly able to live with it... So I was thinking of contacting thomann to see if I can get a discount on it... After all, It's still €59 that I paid for it.

Ah well, I can always try to get a discount for it. If it isn't so, it isn't so. I'll send them photos tonight, with the question if this is normal fabrication. Don't want to send it back, so if they won't budge, I'll leave it at that.

Those holes are where the inner neck support and accessory compartment are attached to the outer case on my tweed bass case, though they are not as prominent as on your case.

That's what I thought they were for, but why applying them afterwards? Isn't it more logical to apply it before placing the tweed fabric?

Could be... I'll try to send them an email, and I'll wait and see what they'll reply

Mail is sent. It's ashame if this is the normal way of fabrication for the Thomann cases. It's a nice case, but the way they did this just looks bad. On my gator case they did it the right way... Now we'll wait and see what they'll reply

Well, it seems that Thomann doesn't only do poor QC, they also don't really read their emails either. I just got a basic and standard reply, for a send back. I asked if all their cases had this flaw in manufacturing, but that still remains unanswered...
I don't really feel like sending it back, especially after hearing you guys have the same beauty flaws in your cases. I can manage to live with it... If I was sure I would get one back without these flaws, I would return it...

As JAC pointed out several times in the past 2 (or is it 3) years, best is to call them (guitar and bass department) on the phone. He did so a few times and they were very helpful. I only ever emailed them and they were always helpful. Just make sure to have a respectful tone. They are dealing with customers all day long, week in week out and it can be too much to handle those who go overboard. I know, I used to a salesman for many years. But also make sure they understand that you are not happy with the product of course.
