Amazing guitar. I prefer the orange one myself though, this white one looks a bit cheaper imo. I like that on the orange you can still see the wood grains thru it. I was going to get this for a long time but decided against it.

I bought the white one about a year ago and it is the worst Harley Benton I have received. It looks good and it feels good, but the whole bridge-Bigsby set-up makes it unplayable.

You probably got a bad model, if you look at the reviews most of the time they are absolutely fine, which at this price range is amazing for a guitar like that. The quality control is a bit hit and miss unfortunately, sometimes they're great, sometimes they're real bad.

Hey Marit, I think that the BigTone is just a bad design. I have issues similar to what Nick in the States talks about in this video. My BigTone cannot stay in tune at all. I tried the bridge in many different positions but had no luck. I did not return it because I live a long, long way away from Thomann, and the postal costs would be ridiculously high. I have no problem with the quality of the other HB guitars that I own, it is just the BigTone that I found to be lacking. I agree with you that the quality control is pretty slack at Thomann, but I must say that I recently received a guitar from them where the neck was not properly connected to the body, and Thomann kindly sent me a replacement guitar, without me having to post the damaged one back. Great company Thomann.

Hi, I own the orange version of the Big Tone . I've not had the same problems with the bridge as other people have had, but I really don't think that is unusual. If it was maybe there would be many more complaints and Thomann would stop selling them, ( ) The bridge was stable when I got it and I've changed it to an ebony floating bridge with a flat base giving more contact with the guitar and still not had any movement when using the vibrato. My problems with the guitar were different. The vibrato was very slightly off centre which moved the bridge and strings about half a millimeter towards the edge of fingerboard and the pots seemed to have been wired up wrong as the master tone didn't seem to work properly. I solved both problems easily and it's now my favourite 'go to' guitar and I play it all the time. I've changed the pickups to a P90 alnico V at the bridge and an upgraded the Rockatron on the bridge to an alnico II. It now sounds fantastic played though my Biyang X drive with very slight overdrive, on a clean channel with some reverb. I'm surprised how much I am now attached to this guitar as I've got others which are better made, but which now hardly get played.

Great company Thomann. That's very kind of them! The guitar they first sent you was unusable or you managed to fix it? It's a shame about the problems with your Bigtone, but she's still stunning to look at :-)

marit: I saw the video of you playing at the Neil Young concert. Looked great! So you're another happy Big Tone owner ... that makes at two of us!

Marit, It was indeed very kind of Thomann to send me out a replacement guitar. I did not attempt to fix the damaged guitar because the replacement was perfect. I bought a Gretsch 2420 to cover for what I found lacking in the BigTone. Here are some photos of the damaged guitar I received: EDIT: I tried to link 2 photos here but I realise that it didn't work. Anybody that can give me some tips on how to put pics here? EDIT 2: Thanks DefJef.

Yes, those Gretsch Streamliners are great. I've been eyeing the Gretsch 2622T for a while, currently just 450 euros. Unfortunately, I'm unable to see the pictures, it gives up an error!

Yeah Marit, I'm sorry, I can't figure out how to put pics here. Hope that you eventually get the 2662T. My 2420 is really well made with no defects, and the neck feels so comfortable. It is definitely a better guitar than my BigTone. Shame about that since I rave about my other Harley Benton guitars.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.
