New to the range from 22nd May is this little beauty that should satisfy everyone who doesn't like sunbursts. The HB JA60 OW . I think it's quite lovely. Obviously it's a hardtail but a Bigsby B5/B50 would fit nicely behind that Tunomatic. New roller saddles might then be worth a look but I've never needed them with Bigsbys. Love the matched headstock. Also this model now uses Roswell pickups which, I gather, are South Korean made and are considered to be more consistent in quality than the Wilkinsons. I also believe that the Roswells are Alnico whilst the Wilkinsons were ceramic although I would love some confirmation on that. Hopefully the website will get that part updated soon. Here are some some comparisons and options that are making my head spin:

Yup, Roswell P90's are Alnico V.
And is it just me or are they in the middle of changing website?

This is he site. I don't remember it looking that good, don't remember option for custom pickups as well. And you can even get Henning's pink covered P90:

Yes, still ugly as f.. K Why cant they read comments and act accordingly?! I mean the PG on the HB-35 is just "oh my god! " and almost all reviews on Thomann mention this yet no one cares to rectify the problem!

Now here's a question. For the neck and bridge to hum cancel when switched on together then they would need to be reverse wound and reverse polarity to one another wouldn't they? So if you wanted to fit a middle pickup which orientation should THAT have? And how would be certain to order one? And what about the Gilmour Mod on a strat? If you switch on the neck so that it is is on with the bridge then they are surely not reverse wound reverse polarity and not hum cancelling? If you were to fit a middle pickup , the best solution would be to move the neck p90 into the middle and get a forward wound neck p90. every thing would be hum cancelling then . The Gilmour mod neck and bridge is not hum cancelling. I shield all the cavities , connect them all together and earth them at the output jack . It does a pretty good job of keeping the hum down.

Ive been thinking of buying the sc450 gt with p90s but this is very nice indeed and would look great with a bigsby. The site says Wilkinson P90s though.
The pickguard is rotten but I wonder could it be dyed. Fender plastics (tone knobs, pickup covers) can be stained but some other makes cant I wonder if these would take staining ?

Thanks for that wildturkey. I'm still trying to figure out how that works with the extra P90. Do you mean get a matching bridge P90 for the neck in order to get opposite polarity and winding? Hopefully the output would be suitable. As for the Roswells, apparently Thomann are switching to them on the Olympic white and they do know that their website says Wilkinsons cause I've told 'em...twice! Don't know about staining the guard but maybe there would be a suitable International paint that would do the job. Personally I would see this as an opportunity to cut a new guard more in keeping with the Jazzmaster shape and reaching behind the bridge.
