While doing a bit of research on the JA 60 I found a sunburst one locally without pickups or wiring for €50 . Should be picking it up tomorrow

I think the busy PG actually looks no too bad on the White and would probably look OK on a black version too ( Do It Thomann). Im just guessing but maybe the JM pick up could bring on a potential lawsuit by the big F. Still a pretty nice guitar for little money....I like it 👍

Not sure about the lawsuit, it should be ok as long as it is not advertised as "genuine Fender Jazzmaster tone". I think it's simply because P90 is far more popular pickup, hence more sales. Sure, switching to JM pickup might help them to sell 5 extra guitars, but not really worth the trouble.

I had a go at the pickguard tonight Gave it a light sanding and then mixed acetone and Rustins mahogany wood dye on a cloth and rubbed it in. then buffed it up with a little bees wax and finally sanded back the edge to white . In hindsight I should have taped the white edges before applying the dye . It does look more tortoise and more natural than the original Ive washed and scrubbed it and it hasnt faded at all

Maybe you should wait until I get mine next week so you get an idea if this one is ok or not. Unless you want to mod it to death then my opinion means little
