Hey, so I'm planning on buying a new bridge for my Affinity strat, and since this model has a thinner body, I don't know if I can use a regular bridge. I'm interested in this bloc bridge (http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-STYLE-TREMOLO-BRIDGE-TREM-ARM-FULL-BLOCK-STRATOCASTER-/191932508459?hash=item2cb011a92b), but I don't know if it will fit. Here's an Affinity strat bridge for measurements (http://www.ebay.com/itm/TREMOLO-BRIDGE-Trem-Arm-All-Screws-Springs-SQUIER-AFFINITY-STRATOCASTER-/322290412252?hash=item4b0a016adc).
As you can see the affinity strat's bloc is 35.5mm in depth and the one I want is 40mm. I don't know if i can overlook that tiny difference?

My best advice is to measure the one you've got. Also keep in mind that there are different string spacings and they usually coincide with the spacing between the mounting screws. Measure! I have measured it and it's the exact same as the affinity one I posted, so I guess i can't put the bridge I want in this strat or the .5mm can be overlooked? If not then there's nothing i can do about it...I didn't find any bridge that has the same dimensions are my current one

As I said though, make shure the screw spacing matches.

cerb the base plate is the same dimension, but the string and screw hole spacing in my bridge is 52mm, and 54mm in the bridge I want to buy. So I guess I should look for another bridge?

Body depth is a problem for Affinity strat owners when it comes to this. Two solutions that are frequently undertaken are either to leave the back plate off to accommodate a deeper block or, if you have access to some tools, to hack, grind or file off some of the block depth. I have both full depth Squiers and an Affinity and have never been able to swap the deeper block into the Affinity without some form off compromise.

@defjef if taking off the backplate will fix this, then that would be perfect. I found a website called "guitar fetish" that makes bridges and blocs for import strat with thinner body, and they are quite affordable, but they don't ship to my country. So I don't really know what i'm going to do now, I didn't find anything on ebay, everything is for the regular strats (talking about screw and string spacing)

Do you mean these, @bendricks? GFS Block . If so I'd still want the dimensions measurement. The wording is slightly unclear on the description but I think they are talking about the thin tremolo blocks on many import strats rather than the thin bodies on Affinities when they say, "A real SOLID STEEL tremolo block with vintage-correct dimensions- BUT... Fits the thin, cheesy "Made in China" and all of the various Indonesian, Korean and junky asian trems". That sounds to me as though it's just the holes that are correctly spaced. I may be wrong. It has been known.

@defjef well i can't even order them, but I took the dimensions of the spacing and it's 52.5mm . I havent found a well branded bridge with those dimensions on ebay, mostly are chinese bridges that are ven worse than the one I already own...sucks

cerb it's too light, the saddles are extremely light and they are really low quality. And to be honest a vintage style bridge would look great on my guitar
