How can any of you see all this detail? I can barely make out Neil's sideburns. I thought he had a Spaniel on his lap

Ooh, I went there yesterday. Their test was rubbish. Not once did they show me a Neil Young video. It was all:
XYVMW TKLMX HNTYL GIBSONDOVE
I could read everything except the bottom line but they said that was fine.

Continuing this investigation...
Well I can see why a Dove is a contender - predicated on the fact that the pickguard is one of those 'batwing' type designs as it appears in the first video. I'm not sure if it is or if it just looks that way because of the shadows from the mike stand.
...but there isn't much evidence of him playing any Gibson Dreadnought Acoustic before. Although we do know he has loads of guitars and no doubt owns Gibsons. But I cannot find any photo of him playing an acoustic with that type of pickguard.

Perhaps he hadn't been to Specsavers and picked up somebody else's guitar by mistake.

OK. I've had my retinas replaced, all cataracts removed and my lenses upgraded to 5X magnification. This has allowed me to become your acoustic guitar identification guru and, in order to save you any more sleepless nights, I can point you in the direction of a Gibson Country and Western SJN. That'll give you your spruce top and mohogamonogomy back and sides. Next.

I think it's easier to see in this video...from the same show Of course maybe that's a different guitar....since he has a stack of them behind him. That guitar is the Martin D-45! The other video is definitely a different guitar, I've looked at the pickguard from multiple angles and also watched the various other videos of this show but none show this guitar, unfortunately. Replying to your post further up; indeed Neil is known for playing 99% of the time his Martins, he has a Taylor 12 string that he uses for a few songs and then he has a Gibson J-200 vintage sunburst that he used a lot back in the 70s/80s, and also a few times during his acoustics shows a few years ago. This is a guitar I've never seen him play before which is why it fascinates me. The ridiculous thing is I tried to sign up to Gibsons forums to see if they could figure it out, but I I'm unable to register, because of some stupid system fault. I also signed up the "The Acoustic Guitar Forum", but more than 24 hours later I still haven't been activated there either.

@defjef: he is often confused with what guitar to use I've noticed, some are tuned differently for certain songs and he gets confused. Throw in a harmonica and he'll start off a song with a harmonica that isn't in the right key, or the guitar isn't. Or he isn't Nice detective work there, @defjef! Really put in the hours and you're right, that looks a good contender along with the Dove or Hummingbird.

Oh aye, it could be. That was the one that Gibson redesigned to my '65 one.

Marit i think you are right - I took a more careful look at the video now and I can see it's not a dreadnought - as the shoulders are a bit rounder. Pity we cannot see the shape of the bridge as that's a distinguishing feature too.

@defjef: you mean the '68 one you posted? Yeah, quite sure, you definitely pointed me in the right direction! Well done salteedog: yeah, indeed, that would be the giveaway. Do the shoulders look more similar to the SJN I posted you think?

Yeah, I think that is the one marit. Well done. I couldn't see that sloped shoulderness that you could but I think you're right. Funnily enough I think I may have just watched Thom Yorke playing one. Might be wrong though.

It's not so much the sloped shoulders as it is the slightly rounder upper bouts than on a usual dreadnought. That's funny, oh how our knowledge is growing day by day
