Psychologically, I like that. Yes I'm coming around to the view that if there are quality issues, I'll just have to sort them out with Thomann. I mean, £170 saving is not to be sniffed at. Thanks again. Yes, indeed I have returned 7 guitars in the past several month all had some issues. Just make sure you send the return email to Thomann within the FIRST 14 DAYS! Only then will they cover the return postage!

rookery - I have the original HB35 and don't play it much because I'm mainly an acoustic player. Did a gig with it a few months back and had no issues - sounded great. Think it's worth taking a chance on.

ChedaPapa, Returned 7, blimey you're a glutton for punishment and I bet HB love you! I'm not sure I've got that kind of determination but if I do hit the buy button, you'll hear about it here first. Dodger, I'm sure either would be fine and both better than my own playing ability.

Talking of returns.....Thomann are about to send me another pair of Supalux headphones to replace a faulty pair (the left ear has no sound after a few months use). This is the THIRD pair to fail in the space of 6 months and I'm now about to re-order a new pair ( or have them credit my account). Can't fault Thomann's excellent customer service as they have told me to hold on to the faulty pairs and not return them. Imagine if they adopted this policy with their faulty guitars 😃........Nirvana

It may all depend on the service / return policies of the shop you order your guitar....
Just to note: From the 16 Epiphone guitars I ordered during the last 3 years, 12 were total crap with twisted necks, awful fret jobs, bad wiring, dead pots and /or crooked boreholes. My luck was that I ordered the most of them from Amazon and therefore had no issues with sending them back.
The quality control of Epiphone often could be bad so you might take this into consideration prior ordering Epiphone stuff...
