I'm looking at some fat ODs but they cost many coins My favorite seems the Dude! I wonder if there is anything similar yet more affordable ? I see Soul Food having good reviews! I need fat OD but not mushy and that has a bit growl to it when cranked! What have you to offer me?

I like the TC elec. Cinders
Checked out the cheaper Boss ODs? Super overdrive, turbo overdrive, blues driver etc... can probably get them at a decent price on Reverb, EBay
The TC elec MojoMojo is good too if it’s still priced at £40

Not sure about the Cinders tone ... Didn't like it from the reviews. The Boss pedals lack Low Midrange which Dude has (a knob for low midrange). I know Mick and Dan tried to make the Boss Blues Drive sound like Dude by using grading EQ. Maybe that's what I need?! OD is a non-stop ON pedal in my chain. It is THE most important one and for that reason I don't mind giving more coins for a keeper! It's just that Dude is over 200 Eur

Yeah, from reading comments on the Cinders it seems a lot of people dislike it.

I'm not after fuzz distortion. Yes I have seen that one!
After seeing numerous reviews I seem to be liking the OD type that emulates amp sounds like Dumble (Dude) and Supro too. Supro made a very good OD pedal emulating their own amps. One of the pedals even has the Supro Tremolo!
Hm ... for my inspiration Tone is King , only then do my fingers follow into the game!
Since Supro amps are totally out of my league I could try and get money for the Supro OD pedal and then add a Harley Benton 12" Celestion cab to my Bugera V5 for some very good recording tone!
Hm ... my mind began to roll this idea ...
I'm a bit tired of mediocre tones/sounds one gets from some China pedals. I wasted money on the NUX Multi unit. The Rowin Muff and the Toms line G Fuzz also crap. NUX Amp Sim is on the muddy side.
Sure they don't cost much but still they waste my time and frustrate me which again adds to time waste and I'm getting older with each breath I take so ...
Hm ... yes, lots of money but Snarky Puppy is using both Supro and Dude so ... hm ... Dunno ...
I do have a Strat now that I like and it has very interesting tonal options but I always feel the clear Low Midrange missing in my gear!
Hm ... ... ...

It's meant to be a Klon clone I think.

Was looking to get that one a few years back but didn't like the tone (from reviews).
Will have to ponder about how much money I'm willing to put into this very important part of my gear ...
Hm ... at some stage one knows what one needs tone wise and in my case it will drive me crazy if I don't get it. I mean I could get a Katana 50 for that Dude or Supro pedal money but so far modeling technology didn't work too well for my ears (except the Bassman sim on me RP225 by Digitech).
I need that ONE bleeding amp in a pedal that I can plug into any amp or audio interface and it's always there. I need that platform to build upon. Same was with my new modded ST-62MN , I'm in Love with it now!
(I'm trying to justify to myself spending so much on one pedal)

I could try and fake it by getting a Boss Blues Driver, a good graphic 6 band EQ pedal and a good Compressor pedal to Maybe get what I want! But this will also cost money (maybe even more) and will involve tweaking forever like!
Hm ... ... I should sleep ... I'm already gone to bed, I just have to let go of this damn phone and think of pink sheep , or was it pink elephants?

Well. You like Bassmans and early Marshalls are based on the Bassman?
Are there OD pedals based on Bassman/Bassmen?

Maybe a Boss JB-2 Angry Driver? Basically it combines the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver and Angry Charlie from JHS Pedals. Certainly not cheap but very versatile.

You might find a 2nd hand one cheap.
