I dunno, you’d have to buy some P90s, enlarge the cavities and do some wiring.

Ops my bad, sorry I was browsing this on my mobile phone and thought these were dog ear P90's I see now they are just single coils! Big NO from me then!

There's still the HB JA-60 for about €30 more. I know you are not a fan of the neck and the pickguard though.

I might give the JA-60 in white a chance and if I dislike it just send it back as per usual. I did like my TE-90QM a lot but I disliked the fact that I could only reach electronics through the f-holes.

What is your objection to the LP goldtop P90 one?

What is your objection to the LP goldtop P90 one? I ordered that one some while ago and it had faulty electrics, very bad sounding P90's and the fret work was rubbish and like all LP guitars bottom heavy when sitting playing.

...and at first glance it looks superficially like the sunburst one I hate which I'm stripping apart and respraying. Perhaps I should just stop and ship it to you. It has a humbucker dangling out of it at the moment but will get a P90 in the neck soon!

My Epi Junior is looking like it might get access to the electronics from the front and the back at the moment. Surely that's madness.

I do like the semi hollow body but would be great to find a way to get into the electronics without fishing them out through the f-holes. I know about fishing and man it can take ages

I'd have thought a TE90 is routed out inside like a Tele thinline is rather than constructed semi hollow 335 style. In which case it wouldn't be impossible to add an access hatch at the back.

The pics show the TE as a bit of an oddity with strings through body but no access. Not tempted to take another gamble in the great HB lottery?

Sure thing it is only a semi hollow with a wooden block down the middle of the body so yes this would be possible ... for people like intenselycalm and blablas , but surely not for me!

MartinB and @chedapapa . The Tele thinline is not constructed like a 335 and I don't expect the TE90 is either. Leo's idea was just to lighten a heavy tele by routing out weight relief each side of the bridge from the back and then close up the back with a slice of wood. In order to make it easier to sell in a music shop the f holes were added just so that it would be clear that this was a weight relieved model (and for certain aesthetic appeal...which doesn't appeal to everyone!). Of course the TE90 might have been routed from the front instead and then closed from that side but the principle is the same. So this isn't strictly a semi hollow in the accepted sense. If you can get a finger inside the f hole (no tittering at the back) you'll probably be able to feel how small the routing actually is. It means there should be plenty of solid wood to attach a rear access plate to. Even nicely recessed too.
