To anyone who cares......
I did receive my SC Custom, though it sat in both customs for almost two weeks, but I did receive probably one of the very last Vietnam made models, dark neck, straplocks, recessed pickups, I am very happy.
The low side needs to come down a bit, and its not staying in tune 100%, but I havent had time to tweak it, Thank You All for your insight. Dave...

Wow, that's real luck. I thought it possible but not likely. Strings are new and stretching, of course they won't stay in tune. Try this, see if it helps. Action is always higher than it could be. I think it's intentional or half the guitars would start buzzing each time the wheather changes.

I am wondering which model did you actually order from the SC Custom series? I've ordered an SC Custom Active WH last week and they shipped it two days ago. It'll probably arrive in between one to two weeks if everything goes right. I asked them if mine was made in Vietnam or China before they shipped the items but they haven't even replied yet. But i've watched a couple review videos, the ones that are released around late 2019 are all made in China and there is one guy who released his review at 10/01/2020 and his guitar is made in Vietnam. You may see here: Also your's is made in Vietnam and the active WH version apparently hadn't been out of stock yet. Maybe if your's is too the active version mine also might be made in Nam hopefully. Also what's your general impression about the guitar after 3 weeks of use? Thanks man! Sincerely, Zack

Hi I recently purchased a Twin neck DC 612 Custom Cherry After reading the reviews about HB etc I decided to go with them, highly anticipated and excited about it. Well packaged as it was, Boy was I disappointed with the guitar they sent. It looked second hand, definitely b stock quality. Grover tuners were excellent, rest of hardware was not good. Would need new 12 string tail piece /stop bar. 6 string neck was fine, basic set up needed (nut, action intonation etc) but 12 string was not good. Dent in fretboard, frets cut short, dent in back of neck. The body finish was terrible. Cracks in laquer, swirls n scratches all over. I didn't even plug her in so cannot comment on pickups. I packed her straight away and sent back. I'm currently waiting for replacement but will not receive for at least 4 weeks. These twin necks were £459 (what I paid) but now £429.

Hi there.
I have just been reading the post's related to the Harley Benton Guitars being made in Vietnam.
I have just ordered the CST-24T P90 in Paradise Flame. I am under the impression after being on the Thomann site fro some time that the guitar is made in Vietnam. It is clearly shown on the back of the headstock picture that it is made in Vietnam. I looked at other cheaper models on the site and noticed that they were made in China. All of the higher end guitars are shown to be made in Vietnam. If this is not the case they need to change the information on the site. I wouldn't have bought the guitar if it was shown to be made in China.
I don't want another Chinese guitar. I have had 2 Chines guitars so far and both have been crap. They were cheap as guitars go, but not cheaper than the £222.00 I have just paid for the HB. On the other hand I had a beautifully made Jazz guitar that was made in Vietnam. I couldn't fault it. The Jazz guitar was around £300.00 which isn't cheapy cheap for an Asian import guitar, but I was more than happy with what I got for the money.
I am in a mind to cancel my order as I have only just paid for it. Do any of you have any experience with the model CST-24T P90 that I have paid for or the same thing with humbuckers ?.
I may just let it turn up to do a review on it. Lets see.

So they are switching over to China. When I asked why this happened I was told it was decision by Product Management.( above the Reps head) My order was made two days after the China shipment came in, but as FREDSKY says above..... he ordered one 2 weeks prior and had to wait til the new shipment arrived, and his WAS STILL Vietnamese. So SC-Custom, SC-550 and CST-24HB moved from Vietnam to China. The new, Chinese CST-24HB has a different bridge, a different fingerboard material and quite a different finish. Now I wonder, are they still having anything made in Vietnam?

Why would Thomann do this and start making unattractive rubbish like the Chinese version shown above ?. After the years they have spent building a reputation. This would destroy the sales of this range of guitars. I find this a little hard to believe. What does the rest of you think.
After seeing all of the reviews and Youtube videos on the HB guitars I have just ordered a CST-24T P90. I will update you all on here with what I receive and my opinion on it. I have been making and building high end guitars for 25 years plus so I can give a good and helpful opinion on what is a good or bad guitar.
Felt for they guy that got that duff HB in the video. That really was a bad one.

My SC-550 was made in China and in all honesty, it's one of the nicest guitars I've ever had. Finish, workmanship, fretwork, setup and intonation were fantastic out of the box. I can't find any "fault". I like it much better than my Gibson LP. So I don't necessarily buy the "chinese guitars are crap" thing :-)

Now i need to check my SC custom and SC jr. Both were purchased in the past year and I'm pretty sure that they are both made in Indonesia.
Also, my apologies if this next statement makes me sound like an ass..
Y'all buying harley bentons while simultaneously worrying about resale value - it's just weird.
