Oh so P-bass pickup is not a single coil pickup? I never thought of it being a humbucker! Thanks for clarifying that! It must be my head that is slow today

Arent they more of a 2 single coil in a middle Tele position? Still single coils but can cancel hum? We dont call them Humbuckers or Humbucking do we? Humbucker pickup sure is 2 single coils connected together but we dont call it 2 humbucking single coils. Thats why I was confused. Ah the complex world of Bass

There are two types of P bass pickups, just to confuse everything! 50's style, same one that's in the HB PB-50, this is a single coil. later P bass style, split coil in series (two separate housings).
