Really looking forward to get the blue one. At some time I seemed to remember some factory pictures of this or a 5 string jazz bass ( ) published by Cory Mura but they vanished.

I think that theses are gonna look like the Cort GB74 and GB75 because the specs are quite similar and the factory that made Cort guitars is in Indonesia (location of the HB pro series) look at the pictures below and you will have an idea of the pro series bass

OK so the one I added to my wishlist before they removed the item now has a thumbnail: Dunno what I think about that. I would want a maple fretboard and it looks kind of wonky. Also this time the P-pickup is the contemporary Fender stagger instead of the early 2000s "Deluxe" setup they use on the PJ-5 and PJ-75 (the wider coil is on the thicker strings this time) but also the coil on the thicker strings is closer to the bridge rather than the neck. This is gonna sound nasal and honky, which is the opposite of what I look for in a PJ.
At least they painted the headstock to match the body. Hope to see more of that going forward, especially on non-woody colours. I can kinda accept a plain wood headstock if the body is some shade of brown, or at least light (cream, white etc.) but if it's black or metallic colour I want a painted HS like this.
Edit: The others got images too
The natural one is kind of alright. Though again the pickup situation doesn't appeal to my sonic tastes. (At least they should be very low noise)

Oh, they look squashed too It's either a bold new shape or just a resizing artefact… That inverted pick-up is a guaranteed dilemma. Come on, it's a novelty for a modern sound, isn't it exciting? No, it isn't? I have no idea how much difference it makes but I think I would be annoyed. It looks like being different for the sake of it and of course the old choice was made for a good reason. But I see four knobs, would it be an active bass? (Yes, it is, with an active/passive switch too) Mine has five. And a slap switch. I won't sell it after all.

It's not a true P/J, the bridge pickup looks like a humbucker, maybe it can be switched in single coil mode.

It's not a true P/J, the bridge pickup looks like a humbucker, maybe it can be switched in single coil mode. It is and the volume knob is a push-pull but it is most probably to switch between active and passive modes: pickups: Roswell MA-4 alnico-5 humbucker (bridge) - Roswell PM-4A alnico-5 single coil (neck), electronics: Roswell GMA2 active / passive 2-band EQ, controls: volume (push/pull), balance, treble & bass,

They are called MP-5, anyway, like MusicMan Precision. The pictures are not squashed, by the way. They do have a broader, rounder body and longer horns. Here's one between an MB-4 and a PJ-5:

It might make a new sound. These new, higher priced models are not copies. They want to be originals, even though some parentage is made obviously visible. Shape and sound must be their own.
