I saw the review of the HB VT30 by EytschPi42, and wanted to pick one up straight away. Sadly these are no longer sold. In fact I'm having a hard time finding any tube amps by HB on Thomanns site. Only the solid state amps come up.
Does anyone know if HB will put out more tube amps in the foreseeable future?

Hi jensen, and welcome to the HB Club. Yes, Harley Benton is known to come up with a product/guitar/bass and after a while they stop with it and come up with a new one, etc ...
I did ask Thomann if they plan on introducing a new tube amp and they said "not at this time". Sad but true. Im also willing to buy a HB tube amp because its great value for the money. I hope they re-brand the Joyo Mjolnir 20 watts tube amp!

On the other hand, I have read that they did have some issues with them? Considering a lot of the stuff under the HB name is just rebranded, there is a chance the VT30 may be available under a different name. Has anyone looked into this?

Since Thomann won't be bringing the VT30 back, I figured I would start looking for an alternative. I.e. something cheap that sounds like the "big F" Hot Rod. I came across the Bugera V55 Infinium: linkyThe "Infinium" means that it has auto-Bias (?) so the tubes last up to 20x longer and you can change them yourself. At about EUR 340 this is relatively cheap and comes with a foot switch too. Sadly, the only comparison I could find, was with the previous, non-Infinium version: LinkyHas anyone tried this one out and can compare it to the VT30 and/or Hot Rod?

No. It's a Golden Tone VT-30. Unfortunately the Golden Tone isn't available anymore, neither.

Gear4music.com here in the UK sell a in house brand called the Sub Zero SZ-TUBE-H50R-G212 for £330. It's a 50 watt all valve head with a 212 Eminence loaded speaker cab, could be a good alternative to the HB or Bugera. You can also buy the head only for just over £200. They also do a F blues junior copy called the Sub Zero tube20R which is a 112 combo loaded with Eminence 70/80 speaker for £229.
