I'll agree on all points but to me the debate stops when in spite of all these open questions, the differences are so minimal they are not worth debating. It's not as if we were comparing single coils and humbuckers using different strings plugged into a Vox and a Fender.

I'd like to stand right there in the room during that comparison. Youtube doesn't help much and his playing isn't that consistent either, but if I had to pick out of the last test (bridge PU) I would go for:
1. Swamp Ash 2. Basswood 3. Sugar Pine Poplar, paulownia and obeche sounded a bit dull to me. I didn't like the alder and mahogany guitars much.
A blind test would have been interesting and might have produced different results. I know I am a bit biased

If you have to stand in the room, then the difference doesn't matter. It is lost the moment it is mixed with other instruments and heard in normal conditions. If it can be equalised to sound the same as another, then it doesn't matter. The player can get the sound he wants regardless of the guitar used.
We're debating whether one guitar has the knob on 5 and the other on 6. Yes, they do. It doesn't matter. The bloody thing can be turned. This is not an acoustic instrument, and even that can be adjusted by playing a little further up or down the neck.

LeoThunder while I agree with you on the topic of wood qualities I cannot follow your argumentation any further.
smittywerber reading your original post again I have to apologize for digressing and leading the discussion into tonewoods.
I don't know much about deathcore and the used tunings, but I would follow Leo Thunder's advice and look into the SC-7 or maybe even the TE-7 if a 7string is an option for you.
