These are my Wishbass Lobes. About as far removed from other handbuilt basses as you can get Wishnevsky only builds 200 per year and these are 11 year old. 2007,smackdab in the middle of Steve's militant bass building years Back then asking for frets might get you a grudging "OK",asking for a truss rod got you a firm "No",asking for active electrics you got a swift punch to the jaw Described as "paint brushes for musicians", a Wishbass is about as basic as you can get. Wood, pickup, strings and that's it. Compared to a factory bass these come as a shock. The necks are slightly thinner than my double bass, some wormholes get filled/some not, some chips or splits get filled/some not. The whole thinking behind them is "you want a bass ? There's a bass, now get on with it." If you have a list of must have specs then a Wishbass is not for you Me ? I'm happy with a 48mm wide nut and a neck 48mm thick

Congrats KB, I didn't know you were into the whole Wishbass thing, although, it does suit your style of "just play the f'ing thing!" Any sign of issues after 10 years without a truss rod?

"just play the f'ing thing!" That's me alright. In my younger days, periods being homeless would generally also mean bass-less too. I'd play anything I got my hands on Like the knack of sleeping upright in phone boxes it never leaves you Necks on both Lobes are great. Wonderful thing about no truss rod is morons getting half a story from the internet can't **** with them I knew they'd be thick and chunky but found them easy to play.
