What a shame. Maybe you could suggest they send a set of replacement tubes? A full set just in case the others were not damaged visibly.

Just got email from Music Store and they said its noted and they are very sad about this issue and that their Returns Department will send me a separate email with how-to return this package. No mention of keeping this one and sending another one or any similar discount options or else ... Music Store cares little that this was my first experience with them, a NEGATIVE one some people are just not meant to be salesmen! Fair play to Thomann offering discounts or even letting you keep the guitar with issues and sending you a new one etc ... Nothing can beat Thomann's Customer Service, FULL STOP!

No can do, as the larger pieces of shattered glass could have damaged the speaker cone. I would aslo need to dismantle the etire amp to get all those tiny pieces of shattered glass from the electrical stuff etc ... Any way, Music Store didnt make any such offers to me. They want me to return the item for refund and they feel sorry for me having these issues.

And little shards of glass could continue to spew from the amp in years to come. Yes, it should not be up to you solve their problem. At least they have responded quickly to the issue. It is unfortunate all round.

Just looked a bit better at the back of the amp (used more light to see better) and the rectifier tube seems ok and protected by its own metal enclosure and the one shattered is the 6V6 tube which is behind the cage so this amp surelly was dropped or similar.
Any way ... fun stuff ! Shoit! Was really looking forward to play this box!

If I had a 6V6 I could have tested the rest of the amp but I only have 6L6 tubes at home

It is times like these when we need to sit back, breathe in, breathe out, repeat, examine the facts and determine not only what went wrong but how to prevent a reoccurrence. Two things come to mind. 1 Old technology. 2 It does not have a 7ender badge on it.

Handed the parcel to UPS ... now its waiting to get me money back ... (this darn waiting game ... ) I wish I had a local shop that has VOX AC10 C1 and Bugera V22 Combo to give them a comparison and see if that VOX really offers that harmonic shimmer much more pronounced than on my Bugera V55 (has 6L6). Apparently there is difference between single ended A and AB amps ... have no idea about this tech stuff ... Bugera sure has lots of headroom for cleans and pedal board work but maybe lacks that very raw VOX-y shimmering harmonics. Bugera V22 is 311 Euro VOX AC10 C1 is 415 Euro Im not after a gigging amp here but a very harmonically-rich recording amp. I already have the Bug V55 if I need lots of volume amd headroom and would love an amp that has more of its own character when driven without pedals.

That's the bit I am looking for. We'll get there. The Bugera is breaking up nicely in that sweet area. Does the V55 not do it on the lead channel. Have you played about with the pentode/triode thing or maxing the master and controlling levels with the volume. I initially found the V22 gain channel too coarse but have tamed it somewhat since.

Yes it is sweet but not as sweet as those I hear on VOX amps. I prefer the Triode on this V55 amp. Im sure the drive will sound better on that EL84 driven amp. My speaker might be too old and reacting flobby to the Drive channel.

It's a shame you never got to hear the fame sweet baby. It is hard find anywhere to try out amps. If only there was a Thomann within 40-50 miles of everyone. Then again it would be bad for GAS.
