There's no Bassman '59. The clean is based on the JC clean and the Crunch is based on a Fender Deluxe Tweed crunch.

Well here's a coincidence. Juca Nery (who runs a studio in Portugal and has a sideline selling premade Katana patches) has just posted a free patch bundle. jucaneryguitartuition.com/hot-deals/I don't usually bother with this stuff as I prefer to do my own preset patches but as it happens one of his free ones this month is a patch for a Bassman Clean. (I think he builds these in reference to amps he has access to). Anyway if you get the Katana I've saved the patch so I could send it to you in future.

Thanks saltee! Im still browsing demos of this amp and I have listened to his vids as well. Im not sure anymore though ... I mean it sounds fine and in live situation it would be ok I guess but for recording and playing at home it just seem to miss that fine sparkle and softness tube amps provide and Im so used to it. Even if very affordable this Katana 50 cost about the same as the Bugera G20 or V22 heads. ... will do some more pondering ...
I hear this general boominess or thin sound from these demos. I would not be able to live with that. Maybe the 100 watts combo sounds better due to the larger cabinet but we are talking about 300 Euros now and that is a bit much for me.

I hope you have saved that Bassman '59 patch as I have gone completelly mad and bought the Katana 50 (and the Behringer BDI21 for me HB Shorty P Bass). Should have it next week ... stay tuned ...

Tube amp tone is so nice I can get easily lost in it and just keep playing the same riff/s again and again ... forever in bliss ... At times its good to have something one is fighting with. Just the way I fight with my Tele and not so much with me Strat. They make me play differently.
Getting another tube amp would not offer anything new on my inspirational palette. This one just might be the right thing to get me out of my "blissful valve stage" and get me seeking again (I just hope it doesn't make me wanna jump out of me window)!

I have a Boss Micro BR80 which is a brilliant song idea demo recorder - but it has what I suspect are all of the same preset tones for electric guitar - some of them are really nice but a lot are for shredders. I remember reading a comment in a forum where a fella was saying he could sit in with any band using just a standard amp and his Boss micro for effects. Mine was £150 and fits inside a pocket.

That Micro BR80 cost as much as the entire Katana 50 I certainly can demo-record into my PC DAW or if need be a very fast video record on my iPhone. To be honest I care little if that Katana is "perfect" for my taste as long its "good enough". It certainly would be nice if it can take my pedals well into its Clean setting. In case of a reheaarsal or small gig its a no brainer. As its taking me out of my sweet mental valve zone it might even inspire new riff ideas. All good on this side of the North Pole Imagine the tone I will get when I play the Katana and Bugera together (... damn , forgot to add 1 mic cable to the bundle as I only have one)
