Yeah you got to try your luck. The cash convertor type places appear to think you are either blind or a bit stupid. Well in and around this area I should say, tbh I've not looked in these shops when I have been in other parts of the country. My experience is that there is little value to be had in Cash Convertor shops. Those guys pay rates, rent and wages and need to take a hefty margin. Of course one can be lucky and find a great deal but it's the exception rather than the rule. Yeah, I scour those places every day but only see a bargain about one time in 100. And even then is it a bargain if I don't really need it? For me I equate the term 'buyer's remorse' with Cash Generator shops. I've pulled the trigger so many times and then thought, "what have I done?!! ".

What's that P90 thinline Tele like? Don't start him off on the thinline tele, he'll never open the amp!

It's the other type of semi-hollow I obsess about though! Absolutely no need or money for it, but I'm sure you know how it is.

What's that P90 thinline Tele like? Out of all DefJef's guitars that P90 Tele sounded best to my ears! And felt great in my hands!

Those P90s were originally ceramic ones and I didn't like them. Put some alnico 4 magnets in them and it was a joy. They're probably a bit too hot for my general playing put there's a lot of tonal variety in the three pickup positions...and it's great to have hot when you need hot. I find the volume control makes a huge difference with these pickups too. I never found a strumming tone that was useful above about 6 on the dial. Maybe I'll try the thinline into the Bugera if I ever get home. Come on! your just teasing now, you know we are waiting to hear about the Bugera!!!

Well I got home and it's too late to use it now but I couldn't resist opening the box. Inside was another box, a Bugera one that said 'free full colour gift box inside'. Ooh, what could that be? Something extra?! I carefully sliced open the box to find an almost identically sized Bugera box inside that, but this time covered with photos of the amp so that it looked like an amp itself. W.T.F? Is this for your kid to play with, 'just like daddy's'? I sliced this box open to find a small Russian babooshka inside. No, not really, but I was beginning to wonder, the weight and all. Popped the amp head out and it's pristine. My first impression is that it seems very solidly well built. The toggle switches to the right are very sturdy looking. The chicken head knobs rotate beautifully smoothly (I know blablas gets chicken pox at the thought of chicken head knobs but I love them) and the whole thing looks beautifully purposeful and finished very impressively. The only part that made me scratch my head was the fact that the channel switch is non-latching so there is no visible indication of which channel you may be on. Is yours the same as this @chedapapa ? Of course there is a compromise in that the two channels do not have their own dedicated controls in the same way that the Champ does, so setting a perfect clean and a perfect overdriven channel, balanced for volume appears to not be possible, but I may be wrong. Having stood the head on top of my Champ, it sure looks like it was designed to go there. It's actually a little larger than I expected; the V55HD must surely be enormous? Can't wait to sort out a speaker cable and get going on it.

Nice one looks good, glad to hear it's in perfect nick. Hopefully the eventual test drive is as good. 👍

Is yours the same as this @chedapapa ? My combo V22 version came with a foot-switch box (reverb and channel) with leds to indicate what's on or off.
