I've been meaning to buy an HB bass for like 2-3 years now and every time I went to pull the trigger either;
-the one I had decided on was out of stock -oh "the headstock logo is about to change finally, let's wait" -"Maybe if I give it another year they'll STAHP with the salami pickguard on the PJ-5 and PJ-75" (this never happened)
Now I have an MM-85A on its way because I trawled through the reviews where someone said the bass looks fine without the pickguard because the pockets are all routed tight. Joy!
It's not the PJ-75 I would have wanted, but I'll just wait another 5 years and hope a better pickguard comes along and buy that too

Welcome to the party, then. I am sure a Precision Bass pickguard would fit on this thing if you only drilled a few holes. It's such a simple thing to do, all you need is a drill thinner than the screws. The old holes would be covered anyway and the pickguard can be found below 10€ on ebay.
