Too big as it seems I couldn't sit on the couch playing it. I would need a stool. And I'm pretty sure it doesn't fit in a regular case that holds anything but a Jazzmaster. Jazzmaster's the first level of "too big". This is the 2nd, I suppose.
I brought it to scale next to a Dot and a Casino. The Casino is broader and the Dot a little smaller.

I've always loved them. Not quite the same design as the original but nice anyway. The offset body helps a little with the big bum feeling that a 335 has when you're sitting down and I also prefer the strap button position. Not sure about the socket. I'd definitely want a right angle jack in there for sitting down playing.
It would be the original Starcaster for me if it wan't a sunburst. I love that lick of black on that amber maple neck. I did rather like the olympic white Affinity one but I'd have to give it that stroke of black on the headstock! And find some wide range pickups for it.
"What's that terrible noise?" "Well, it's either the Hoover belt needs replacing or Marc Almond's on Jools again."
The Starcaster clearly wins for me because of the offset shape. It makes it look more interesting. It would have to be the Classic Vibe because of the wide range humbuckers and I would go for the natural finish:
That said, the black Contemporary with active pick-ups would be worth a listen:
I like the sound of these wide range humbuckers. Yes, I say it every time, that's because it remains true. But the problem this guy reports with the electronics doesn't look like it's the result of an accident.
He then added an update to the video description, so buyer beware:
UPDATE (10/14/19): Unfortunately I had to take a full refund for this guitar. I returned it to the retailer, they told me the guitar was functioning properly, the pots Squier uses just don’t have much of a sweep. I also called Fender and the consumer relations rep told me the pots are NOT functioning properly.
But after talking with 2 other Classic Vibe owners experiencing the same issue of the volume pots becoming on/off switches with the tone control(s) disengaged I decided to take the full refund offered to me by The Music Zoo.
