Does anyone here actually own an HB-60? If so, can you please post pictures of how the pg is attached to the body of the bass?
I ask because I have my sights set on building a hollow body bass from a (non-HB) kit (I know, BLASPHEMY!!!) and it doesn't include a pg. I'd like to see how do-able it will be for me to make one and install it, similar to the HB-60 setup.
Thanks!

I don't own one (unfortunately), but the PG is held on by 2 screws. If you zoom in on this photo, you can see the screws and the metal stand off that one of the screws is attached to:

Thanks JAC.
What I really want to see is the pg removed, the underside to see how the metal bracket is attacked to the pg, and to see how the pg is attached to the body, near the neck.

I remember seeing a photo with the pg removed, but I have no idea where it was. Doesn't kodiakblair have this bass? Maybe when he gets time he will take a photo for you. If I remember correctly, the metal stand off has a threaded hole, and at the side of the neck it is just screwed into wood (as the wood is solid there.

I'd like to see a pic, though, just to see. I also want to know how thick the pg material is. It seems pretty thick in the pics.

If the metal bracket is attached the same way as it is on my Höfner Ignition, it's with a simple nut at the underside of the pickguard. Underneath the pickguard where the screw at the side of the neck is is a thick rubber ring that acts as a spacer.
The pickguard on my goldtop HB (Les Paul copy) is attached in a similar way.
If you are interested I can take some pictures for you tomorrow.

No rubber spacer underneath on my HB-60. Fixed like the others have said, L bracket and nut/bolt screw by neck. Les Paul replacement pickguards don't fit,as I have discovered

The pickguards separated from the bodies. On the left the Goldtop, right the Ignition. And mounted. The Goldtop one is 2.2 millimeters thick, the one for the Ignition 2.6.

A couple of questions: The screws that go into the body - is there just a hole in the body or a threaded insert? The rubber?/plastic? bits that sit under the ignition pg. Are they soft and squash down when you tighten it or stiff and keep their shape?

Here's the low budget assembly on the HB-60 Thanks, KB! Same question that I posed to blasblas, Do the screws that go into the body screw directly into the wood, or is there some sort of insert in the wood?
