Encore is a budget brand in UK they did have wilkinson hardware at one point. I don't know if they still do? I've seen them in cash converters (pawn shop) regularly but never in really good condition. They look ok but I cant really say if they are comparable with HB's. There seem to be a lot available used in the UK but I don't know anyone who has actually owned one.

Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I love a tort pickguard if it actually looks like cellulose tort with all the 3D variation going on. Anything that is just a photo of tort on a plastic guard just looks terrible to me. The Trev Wilkinson thing can always get a bit confusing. Since the Wilkinson name got licensed there are many Chinese factories putting out 'Wilkinson' pickups. One of the main reasons that Thomann give for dropping Wilkinson pickups was that they could no longer control consistencey. Hence the swap to Roswell (there may be other reasons ). As far as I am aware Trev Wilkinson IS sort of allied to JHS who sell the Encore brand along with Vintage and Fret King too so why they should have any difficulty sourcing Wilkinson pickups is an interesting conundrum. Maybe they just becam e too expensive anyway or maybe they wanted to show clear brand definition between base level Encores and next level up Vintages? Although the original Wilkinson pickups in these Blasters were often described as 'vintage voiced' I don't think I ever saw them described as 'AlNiCo' so, chances are they were cheap ceramics that Trev Wilkinson didn't mind the sound of but nothing at all special. I may be wrong about that and they may well have BEEN AlNiCos but I've never read anything about them being so. Is the one that you found a brand new one with GuitarTech pickups? I wonder if they still have a graphite nut? If not I start to wonder what distinguishes them from the original pre-Blaster series at all.

I'm not sure but are guitar tech not part of the jhs/Wilkinson collaboration? It's hard to keep up with branding and rebranding. As DefJef said it could be lower end stuff Trev Wilkinson doesn't mind being associated with.
