I'm considering to buy this model to replace my old worn out Squier Affinity. Does this have same neck as HB-st62? Squier has quit thin neck and i'm used to that. I wonder how different the neck might feel? Anyone bought one lately and did you get what you were expecting?

I don't think anyone knows what you'd get. The ST-62 recently got a thinner neck but the old one was really thick (23 mm at 1st fret, 24.5 mm at 12th). My guess is that the new one should be around 22 and 23 but this is a wild one.
Better get an Ibanez, at least you know what you get and Strat's are hopelessly outdated anyway ;-)

Maybe that how it goes. I've heard good things about Hb guitars but i'm a bit sceptical. I thought i give them a chance anyway, out of intrest. I can always return it if i don't like it and buy something better and more expensive. I don't buy guitar often. I try to find guitar that i like and stick to that, do little upgrades if nessessary etc. Stratocaster is never outdated. I'm stratocaster guy. I'm going to swap bridge pickup to humbucker and then i have very versatile guitar. That's the plan if i'm going to buy this and it's worth it.

Neck profiles are a matter of taste, not of quality and even less of price. Get an expensive Jeff Beck apelica and you get a "baseball bat". Fender do not indicate them in their product description either, only some vague, unbinding denomination. However, Fender "Modern C" was reported to be 20.8 and 22.1 mm at 1st and 12th fret. Not sure how reliable this is.
I would expect the ST-90 to follow the change on the ST-62 but there is no telling how long it will take. It depends how many of the thick ones (supposing they were thick too) they have in stock and how fast they sell.
It would be nice if someone here had a ST-90 and could at least confirm that they had the same profile as the ST-62.

"It would be nice if someone here had a ST-90 and could at least confirm that they had the same profile as the ST-62." Yes, that would be nice.
About necks, i don't have lot of experience of different guitars. All which i have played have had quite thin necks so i would just feel more safe to buy something similar, but what is my preference, would i like something different. I guess i know soon, in case that st-90 has thicker neck, that is. It also have flatter radius than Squiers. I guess you can get the action little lower then which i think is nice. I will probably place my order of ST-90 by the end of sunday.

My personal experience was that the guitar I learned on had the "best" neck profile: it's the one that became home to me, like a pair of old shoes. It could have been anything, it's the reference. The ST-62 felt very strange at first but no longer. It depends on personal habits, though, how you hold the neck. Dave Simpson had one and couldn't get used to it. He carries the guitar low and often plays with the thumb over the fingerboard, wrapping his hand around the neck, Hendrix-like. I'm afraid neck thickness has a more important impact this way than if held the classical way with the thumb behind. String action is really an issue only on the old 7.25" radius. Modern ones make little difference. 9.5" isn't flat but not an obstacle to low action.

Hello friend. I own a HB ST90SA and like it very much. I currently have the neck off to refinish the body in tobacco burst so I measured the neck thickness for you. It measures 22mm at the top of the neck and 24mm at the 12th fret. Measure your Squier and let me know what it is. I have 2 MIM Fender Strats and a Vintage V6 Icon. The ST is thicker and less "C" shaped than those guitars. More "U" shaped I suppose. I like it. I have not owned a Squier Strat but I own a Squier 50s Telecaster and had to round over the edges of the fretboard as they were to pointy and hurt my thumb when I wrapped it around. I bought a Squier Strat some time ago but returned it because the neck pocket was not cut right so I can't tell you how the neck felt. I have 5 HB guitars and from my experience HB necks are better than Squiers.

Fender U was thicker. Fender "Modern C": 20.8 22.1 1951 Fender U: 24.1 25.4 1952 Fender U: 25.1 25.1

Thanks bamapaul! I just measured my Squier neck and it measures 21,5mm at the top of the neck and 22,5mm at the 12th fret, so it's little thinner neck. I'm still thinkin of buing ST-90. I'm planning to change the bridge pickup to hotrails or humbucker. Do you know if there is a humbucker size cavity in the body?

Bought it a few months ago. Measured below the volute at the top of the neck which will be different on various brands. Yes it is routed for humbucker. Speaking of routing, check out my previous post on ST90SA build quality. It has a floating trem with studs similar to tuneomatic bridge posts.
